The owner is EXTREMELY rude! I will never go here again. I had family visiting from out of town and we had such an awful experience. My sister-in-law has celiac disease and absolutely CANNOT have gluten. We were looking to get her a gluten free dessert in town and saw this place had some. When walking in and looking at the menu she goes βare you all eating here or whatβ when we said we were looking at the dessert she went on talking to someone else for about 10 minutes (which is fine) but then when we were asking questions about the gluten free options to make sure it was celiac safe, as not all gluten free is safe for celiac, first she walked away when we asked a question then when she came back she said she had work to do and couldnβt stand around chitchatting all day with us! We werenβt chitchatting we were asking important allergy questions to know if we could purchase the dessert. Anyone with celiac disease I recommend sprinkled sweet in pine square, they also had gluten free options with AMAZING...
Β Β Β Read moreThis place is truly singular, both the food and the experience. The food is, as the name suggests, Mediterranean food with a strong array of vegetarian and vegan options, but there are options for people who eat meat and fish too. I was particularly excited to see smelt on the menu, they are one of my favorite fish and I rarely see them in restaurants. I ordered them and they were exquisite. But the food isn't the most amazing part of this place. This is the kind of place where you can go to "get connected", learn about the history of the town and the people here...like talk to the owner, talk to the other customers, get up to date on what is going on in the area, or maybe even far away? Maybe get some funny stories too. It's a nice cozy space too. I really recommend checking this place out if you are ever in the area. It is one-of-a-kind! I regret that we were only stopping by here when we were on the road. This is the sort of place that I'd love to hang out in for an extended...
Β Β Β Read moreWhat a great place! Owner/Chef/Waitstaff Sophia greeted us warmly and made us welcome. Excellent homemade soups and Greek appetizers. We got the large sample appetizer platter which was delicious π ( see photo). Artichoke soup very good. She made a vegan spanakopita which was great. Salads and sandwiches with great variety, all lovingly prepared and served fresh with a smile. So many beautiful Greek pastries, baklava, cookies, baked goods....but we were too full to partake after our meal ( see photos).
Sophia's home is in Karpathos Island, Greece π¬π·. She shared tour books of her island. She visited with us ( second photo) and made us yearn for the tourquoise blue sea surrounding her island. Hope to see it someday!
There are 5 indoor and one outdoor tables. Reservations reccomended. CASH only, so come prepared, although she has an ATM machine in her restaurant in case you need to access cash!
Definitely, a fine Greek...
