I want to start out on a positive and mention that the food TASTED great. That's the end of the positive stuff and where this story takes a turn for the worse.
First, I had a chicken bone in my chicken noodle soup appetizer. Not a huge deal, but it was a little off putting to pull a whole chicken leg bone out of soup halfway through that looked like a finger. We reported this to the waitress who seemed bothered by it. She came back 2 minutes later with our check... but we hadn't even had our main dishes served yet. She asked if the manager had come to talk to us about the chicken bone, and we informed her that we had not. After we finished the meal, she brought the check again. The manager was never even seen during our visit. We chose Carrabbas because we had a $25 gift card from Christmas, (which we checked the balance on while sitting at the table). For some reason, the waitress said the manager couldn't get the card to go through. After waiting for 15 minutes for them to try, she finally returned to inform us that the manager couldn't get it to work. I am eager to call the card number again and see if it still has the $25 balance on it, or if they swiped it on someone else's by mistake and didn't want to admit their error. Either way, terrible customer service, atrocious management, and an overall frustrating experience that rendered the food pointless. We will not be back to...
Read moreI went to the wilmington nc location today for lunch. It was not what it once was that is for sure. I had not been in some time and I was disappointed. My waiter was working alone which led to longer wait time for service. I ordered a ravioli dish and it was supposed to be with chicken spinach, cheeses etc. When I finally got my food which tool over 30 minutes it looked like it was just thrown on the plate, no plate presentation. The ravioli, it was ok. Didn't taste like it had chicken in it. It had a tomato cream sauce and it was stopped down on a plate. Mind u with the wait time for the food, they were not busy. And almost 20 bucks for that plate and wasn't worth it. What happened to u carabbas? Then I wanted a dessert to go. That took another 20 minutes of waiting. It was cannolit. Wa supposed to have crushed pistachios on the ends. Well they threw whole pistachios in the container with the cannabis. Very sloppy. I won't be back. I appreciate good food. And it takes alot for me to complain or leave a bad review. The place needs a good Cleaning and so.e updating. Just felt drab and depressing in there. The waiter, not his fault. He was running around taking care of everyone alone. Where was a manager to help him? And the young lady he had assisting him with drinks and such didn't seem very confident carrying food or drinks. So again where was a...
Read moreCarrabba‘s is one of my favorite places to go and has been for any years now. Going back to Jonathan the past manager aka: Chief of the boat who always welcomed everyone with the quote. ‘Welcome home!’, indeed that Legacy has continued because the people that are there reminds me a lot of the TV bar Cheers, ‘Where everybody knows your name’. And I know their names as well. I was feeling kind of low this week, and I went to sit at the end of the bar where I normally sit, and deer sweet Grace was there to greet me, and then there was Liz. I wanted to try the new crabcakes with roasted red pepper cream sauce, and all I can say is oh my God!!! From the blackberry sangria to the friendly faces that make me feel good, and can spin me on a dime from a sad face to laughing smile. I love this place. I went again last night, and once again feeling a bit low, but immediately Michael at the bar, greeted me with polite professionalism. Then Skyler who came over to check on me and we talked for a while, and I also saw new old friend, Liz, and we hugged, I left the place in a much better way than when I entered the door. The food was awesome, the company was amazing, and they had a way of making me feel like I was the only person sitting there, that I was a very special person indeed, FIVE STARS in every category. Like Jonathan used to say. “ Welcome Home!” I...
