LENGTHY REVIEW let me begin by saying- customer service and communication can carry a business a very long way. You never know who is watching you, nor who a person could be- therefore every customer should be treated equally, no different from someone simply purchasing a drink or someone coming to order two philly's and fries. Money is money, and being spent in this establishment is something that I hope my review encourages you to decide wisely on your own.
Now, my experience here has been flawed because I have both ordered via doordash and ordered take out. Using doordash was an interesting route, but I am certain that my food did not come from a different establishment, however the quality of what I ordered EVERY time was different. Crazy right?! I have only ordered the same thing each time, a plain steak philly with cheese mayo and lettuce with the occasional option of onion with a side of fries. The first couple of times it seemed as if the meat was finely chopped and cooked with the cheese? Making for a good chew and easy to swallow. This recent visit, I had ordered the same exact thing and it seemed to be a larger cut of beef, rather tough, extremely difficult to chew and even harder to swallow. Like any paying customer, because let's be real for the price you pay here you would expect an exceptional meal, since everything is sold separately; I am certainly going to inform management.
How it was handled, not the best experience I have encountered- but who's complaining when the owner says he will replace your meal on the house. The lack of empathy given over the phone was disappointing, especially coming from the owner and in person not any better- seeing as how a simple request for ranch seemed to be too taxing a task, even when the restaurant was empty (one table inside and one table outside in use). Crazy right?! Walking to the back of the house to pour ranch into a 2oz ramekin was so beneath the man at the bar, he instead informed her that he did not have any and had other customer's to take care of, proceeds to fill half a beer and walk to the kitchen anyway. Pictured below are images of the REMAKE of "lunch on Chap" where we called in around opening, in order to pick up around 1pm. I am pretty sure that I have reached my maximum sodium intake for the month and the fries tasted as if they were made when we placed the order and drowned in enough pepper to clear the sinuses.
Needless to say, Port City Cheesesteak seems to be the type of establishment that you waste money in when you have already begun to drink and do not care what the cost or quality of what you consume...
Read moreWent for a comedy show, which was garbage, the food was GARBAGE. Took two bites of a 6inch and one onion ring (I got the “my girlfriend’s not hungry” which is fries and onion rings mixed) ALL GARBAGE. I left to walk across the street to get pizza and gave my friends money for my bill but asked that they point out to the waitress that I didn’t eat or even drink half of my beer.. she rolled her eyes and said “well my problem is that she ate most of it” HA. My friend is a waitress so she obviously ignored her and paid for it thinking she might just be having a tough night. They were busy, but if you can’t handle a high volume restaurant, you shouldn’t be working at one which could be a management problem. This was their second chance with me, because I’ve ordered food from there on DoorDash before and it was terrible but I figured it was because it’s delivery. NOPE, it’s just bad The waitress, Taylor, who never checked on us after we got the food really just blew us away with her comment. I would have felt better if I she said “they give me a hard time for comping food” or something. Had I been there, the scenario would have gone a lot differently. I didn’t intend to write this review otherwise I would’ve taken a better picture but after hearing about the waitress I just had to. I didn’t even care about paying.. I left money but the comment was so...
Read moreWe stopped by tonight while walking around the downtown area because our 6 year old wanted a cheesesteak for dinner. We walked in around 5:15 maybe a few minutes past and there were a few other tables but not many. We ordered our drinks and our beers came to the table not even full. We had a weird feeling about things but decided to order dinner anyways. My husband ordered our food while I was in the bathroom so I’m not sure if he was asked for sides but our food came out about 25 minutes after ordering when we were the only table that had ordered food. My daughter and I got cheesesteaks and they were extremely disappointing. She said the only reason she ate it was because she was hungry but it wasn’t good. The only redeeming qualities of the place were the wings and the friendly (although not very attentive) service but it was definitely not worth the $50 for 16 wings, a 6” cheesesteak, 12” cheesesteak (all with no sides), and 2 beers As we were eating our food another guy started mopping the restaurant and told a couple that was trying to come in that they closed at 6. We were never told that they closed at 6 and there’s nothing visible on their door about hours, had we known they closed at 6 we would have chosen somewhere else but regardless I don’t think...
