I Love NY Pizza — Restaurant in Wilmington

My absolute favorite pizza on the Earth. I found out about this place when I was looking to move to Wilmington, NC from Fayetteville, NC in 2006. When I got there, I asked for a slice of Rio Rancho because it looked different. When I got it, I felt like I was getting the pizza I saw when I 5 years old watching TMNT for the first time and they got their pizza delivered and started tearing into it lol. No matter how silly that sounds, that's how good this pizza is. Perfect! It is my favorite pizza on the planet. Whenever anyone i talk to brings up pizza I always say go to I Love NY Pizza, Wilmington, NC! I've never ordered anything but a Rio Rancho pizza from this place since. I've ordered slices of course. But the Rio Rancho holds a special place in my heart. And, although I haven't seen the older gentleman I saw cooking pizza's for year's... in year's. They've kept up the same exact taste and service which usually isn't the case for most restaurants. I've made it back to Wilmington literally just for this pizza a couple of time's a year. When I either lived 2 hrs away or 8 1/2 hrs away. When i lived 2 hrs away i would pack my kids up on the weekend just to go get a pizza from this place so they love it too. So.... I moved to TN a few year's ago after living in Wilmington for a while and moving back to Fayetteville and even though I can't make it back as many time's as I wish I could. I make sure to go there 2 time's every time I come within 2 hrs of this pizza place and drive to get my favorite pizza ever. Literally, the best pizza you will ever have. Especially if you order your own Extra Large. I got an XL Rio Rancho today 7- 2-24 and I put it in ziplock bags to take with me back to TN lol. Yesterday around pass 6:30 pm I came with 2 of my friends to eat here. Me and my dad had the NY white pizza and the other fellow wanted a vegetarian pizza, but they had one which had cheese with spinach which he didn’t want. So he decided to order the pepperoni pizza. Well once We sat outside having tasted the white pizza I enjoyed it very much, it came as a shock to me probably because it has been a long time for me eating one. The pizza has ricotta, mozzarella and garlic. This pizza has a good amount of cheese, wouldn’t mind taking a pie home with me. What dismay I saw was that they had flies flying on top of the pizza at times while you ordered through the window which I didn’t like. It maybe possible that the business does not want to have a cover over the pizza, because it may take longer for the employees working through the process of giving the food to its customers. 10/14/2020 at 6:38: SO RUDE. SUCH RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Walked to this place to get a couple slices of pizza with my husband. We wait for 15 min in front of the window, literally with two cashiers in front of us not doing anything, at the register, neither of them acknowledged our presence or said to wait or anything. It’s during Covid so they don’t have any customers inside, they weren’t on the phone or anything. So they were simply fiddling with the register. I knocked on the window after a few a while to get their attention, one of the two people doesn’t even look up and gestures to wait in an extremely rude manner.
