This is our third time here, we are local and have really enjoyed the food and service in the past. Tonight was very different though, I don’t know what happened over the past couple months, but the whole vibe is off. My wife and I discussed art experience at lunch and we both decided in the end we felt like we were not wanted it there. we waited For the hostess for about five minutes before we decided to walk over to the bar where it looked like a couple of employees were and ask about getting a table. We should have trusted our guts and gone somewhere else. When we asked the two ladies behind the bar about a table, they looked at us like we were completely interrupting them and putting them out and I swear our waitress Cassie rolled her eyes. We ordered drinks and Cassie moped over to the bar I am assuming to get the drinks. It took about 10 minutes and we watched the whole time. My wife swears that they were talking about us because they kept talking and looking at us and laughing. But I told her she was paranoid. The bartender and Cassie continued to talk while our drinks sat on the counter, going bad as the ice melted. We finally got our drink. Cassie turned around and walked right back to the bar to talk to the bartender instead of taking our order or even telling us about any specials. I don’t know if she was trying to run out the time on happy hour with the intention of making us pay full price so she could get more money or if she just really had no interest in helping us but by the time our happy hour was over. My wife is pretty upset about this and she said something to Kathy and Cassie for sure rolled her eyes this time and went to the bartender they both talked quietly for a minute then the bartender came over , and said in, I swear the most condescending tone I have ever heard from an adult “next time maybe get here a little earlier there’s nothing we can do for you at this point we computers just won’t let us. “Then she turned around and walked off. After all of this, we decided to finish our drinks, which were really not good, way too much alcohol a terrible mix, and go home. I don’t know what happened to our favorite bartender and all the other great servers but if this is how it’s going to be from now on, we are not coming back! The waitress and the bartender seemed more interested in talking between themselves than helping anyone else, we were not the only ones left hanging, and the way these girls talked to myself, and my wife, the tone was so condescending that eye roles were out of control. The body language was terrible… It was clear we were no longer welcome here. Could be because we’re African-American and it could be because locals improve the training for their staff. We will not come back. Sadly, the food was amazing here but if you can’t even order food, why come. And upper management seriously needs to rethink their choice for managers/bartender because that girl has the most sour attitude I have ever experienced in the service industry. I wish I would’ve gotten her name. It was something weird. It...
Read moreIf you go to a high end restaurant regularly then this review is not for you. This is for the person who rarely goes out to a nice place. The website and reviews were spectacular so I gave it a little try. Very nice atmosphere, and a sincere willingness to help from the staff on duty. Not only the restaurant personnel but the hotel staff as well. I ordered the Caesar salad and the parkway Burger. I barely tasted any anchovy, and what I tasted could have been imagined by hopeful feelings. The Romain salad was cut in 3" to 4" lengths in an itsy bitsy bowl with generic croutons. It was difficult to eat without cutting. If it had been flavorful I would have looked past that. I believe the dressing was purchased not made in restaurant. The burger was smaller in both width and depth than I thought a burger for $17 should be. There were some good flavors yet nothing substantial was achieved. A few unremarkable bites and it was done. The burger did not match the description of the establishment. Definitely cooked med rare to perfection. I think the chef went home before I showed up on a Tuesday night. The server from the bar was excellent. I was planning on reviewing this place and did not share or give the chef the opportunity to address any issues I had. Again this review is not for those that regularly spend $25 to 55 on a breakfast, lunch, or dinner, but for those that rarely spend $30 for themselves on a dinner and want it to be a high treat. Do not order the Caesar, have low expectations from the burger or lower cost items. Next I may choose a item they promote on the higher end...
Read moreThis is the "restaurant" / breakfast spot for a Hilton Garden Inn. Decor is sterile and simple. The people on their laptops in the "restaurant" made the image complete.
We came in for happy hour. Menu looked good! Both light and heavier options, without the typical deep-fried bar food. Alas, the delivery was just poor. Servings were tiny. Literally super small. No happy hour food here to give you an early meal and carry you past happy hour and into having more drinks.
Ordered a charcuterie board. Got about 9 thin slices of salami, a half slice of bread, 8 olives, a dab of mustard and a bit of pickled onions. One meat? Sorry, just not a charcuterie board. So, asked for the cheese board to try and fill it out. But no. One wedge of cheese. ONE. And the term "wedge" is generous. One kind of cheese, ONE HALF INCH thick at the thick end and overall, the size of a small coaster. 3" square. And several thin apple slices, another half slice of bread and 6 blueberries.
Very disappointing. Tiny servings. And way overpriced for the size.
If you are staying at the hotel, so sorry. You are captive. But locals have zero reason...
