Bad Daddy's Burger Bar — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

For a while, I wanted to eat a nice tasty juicy burger 🍔. The unfortunate part is that there are way too many burger joints, they all claim to have the best burger, and prices are just ridiculous for a piece of meat between two buns. So, what did I do? Research time! I read actual reviews, with a clear description of the food and taste. I completely ignored dumb, ignorant, and blatantly stupid reviews such as "good" or great burger" or "awesome".

First off, this place is perfectly placed in a corner of a mall with indoor as well as outdoor seating. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a host and a waiter with big smiles. That's always a good thing! We waited maybe 2 mins, even though the place seemed pretty full.

The waiter came immediately and greeted us and asked a couple of questions to get us started. Very patient and very attentive, got the orders right, got the drinks right and kept coming over to our table to make sure we were enjoying our food. Server, and other assistants we super cool, always filled our cups with water, brought napkins and I cannot say enough good things about them. Spot on!

The main subject, The Hamburger 🍔. I don't know if it was the fact that I wanted a burger for so long, that I was hungry, or the fact that the food smelled good, but my Double Smash Burger was cooked perfectly. The meat was still hot and juicy, the cheese was melted, and the bun was fresh. Not to mention, the bacon was crispy... sorry, I hate flimsy rubbery bacon. The burger was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The seasoning used, whatever it was, it was perfect. Not overly salted to mask the meat flavor, not under salt to feel that my burger was bland.... it was perfect 👌🏼. The hand-cut fries 🍟 were also delicious. My son ordered the same thing I did, but ate less, so I had an extra 1/4 piece of burger. Thanks bud!!!

There were other plates on the table. My wife ate a chicken salad 🥗, which she enjoyed.... a little too much, LOL. When I tried her salad I could see why. The chicken strips were terribly good (LOL ha 😆 😋 🤣 😄 😂). Just pure deliciousness!!! Again, great seasoning and cooked to perfection. The salad was fresh and the dressing was killer good. My Father-In-Law ordered a Philly Cheese Steak. It looked amazing with cheese melting all over and plenty of meat and onions to go with it.

Bad Daddy's Burger Bar is an amazing place to spend some time with family & friends, grab a bite, and enjoy a drink. It is a wonderful place to which I will be returning and look forward to more amazing food and a great time with whoever comes with me and the servers they have helping each and every customer with a big smile. It's too bad that this location is getting this rating. I like the Bad Daddy's in Greensboro. But that just proves that it's not the food that is getting these two stars. It's the service. I work in Winston-Salem. And my friends and I will try to come here on our lunch break. This past week we did just that. And it was my worst visit there. (And we have had a few). We were sat with a women named Dawn around 12:05 She was training a new server. (Mistake). She got our drink order then said she would be right back. About 10-15 minutes later, she finally came back. And asked if we wanted a snack. (A snack.... not our lunch order) food was ordered. It came out correct, but took a long time and with no update. It had been about 40 minutes into our lunch break at this point. So you would think that she would have the checks ready. But no. We ate and 1p comes around. Still no check. And our server was walking to all of her other tables but us. We are just watching her at this point. It seemed like she was avoiding us. We ask the hostess (who was great by the way) if she could find our server. The trainee came over and we asked for the check. He didn't say a word. Collected our plates without asking if we wanted boxes. (I still had half a meal on my plate) and just walked away. We paid. And as we got up to leave. The server approached my friend and was aggressively talking at her saying we shouldn't have ordered the way we did. (I ordered for my friends before they got to the restaurant to save time) the server said that confused her and we shouldn't do that. She followed us all the way to the hostess stand. It was a mess. But, we will still probably be back because we just love those chicken tenders. But this staff needs to be retrained or something. Because what they have been doing these last few months is...

Full review: checking out the local candidates that we found on the Facebook page Winston-Salem Eats, my wife and I ran across Bad Daddy's. It definitely pretty high in the candidates for sure. Their Double Burger is enormous, almost comical to try and unhinge the jaw big. The Pastrami burger was good but nothing I'd go out of my way for. The jalapeno burger was great if you are in the mood for something a bit spicy. My wife loves the pulled pork topped smoke house burger and she said their gluten free bun is one of the best ones she has had. I personally thought the bite I had of it was just as good as my normal bun. That being said, who goes to a burger bar and gets a chicken sandwich....I did. It was amazing. Emilio's chicken sandwich is delicious! Bacon, guacamole, lettuce, tomato on top of a huge fried chicken breast is great! Also highly recommend the fried deviled eggs and especially the fried pickles with ranch as appetizers! My wife loves the strawberry lemonade and the strawberry milkshake! I'm not huge on strawberry milkshakes however it was the best one I've ever had. The service has always been great, they have offered outdoor seating multiple times and we have purposefully gone when it was not busy. Destiny, and all the waitresses we have had have been great!
