As a regular here, I love to bring my laptop to do work outside of the house occasionally, while enjoying a cup of Autumn Leaves latte and a Jamaican jerk or curry chicken patty.
Everyone's got a version of a fall latte, but I've enjoyed this one the most to something like pumpkin spice, apple cider, or chai that I would typically order elsewhere. I'm enjoying it while it lasts!
Otherwise, the Jamaican patties are here to stay and I'm thankful for that. I don't believe you can find these anywhere else in Winston and as someone who likes to have something a little more substantial for breakfast/brunch than pastries to enjoy with their coffee, it's nice to be able to grab one or two of these to start my day. With another 2 months left in my pregnancy, I know my growing baby enjoys the protein!
Their fall menu is loaded with special drinks unique to ByGood and beyond coffee, you can enjoy tea and smoothies as well! Attached pics of said menu for reference. Not sure I can make it through the list before Fall's over, but I'm going to try!
Beyond feeling good about supporting this black-owned business, you can also support local artists and students by enjoying the artwork hung throughout the space and purchasing them if you fancy it. It's pet-friendly, with bowls inside to share with your furbabies, and provides ample parking space.

Read moreI recently visited Winston-Salem while I was in town for the Junior Olympics. We woke up early in the morning, made breakfast, and headed to BYGood Coffee (Black owned). ByGood was such a cute shop! I loved it. It had seats to sit about 30 people inside, a cute outdoor patio, and free wifi. The staff was very friendly, diverse, and knowledgeable. I ordered the "Slay The Day" hot latte and it was delicious . My son ordered the sweetened Malibu tea and said it was delicious as well. I loved it so much that I returned a few days later for another one (still delicious) and my son ordered a a hot chocolate. He said he felt important at ByGood because the staff members talked to him instead of overlooking him to direct the conversation to me. He made a joke while we sat on the patio by saying all he needed now was a laptop and a work from home job (he's only in the 6th grade haha). I'd definitely visit again if I'm ever randomly in Winston-Salem. Thanks Bygood for the good time and great coffee.
SN: Parking is free and available via an attached parking lot. The area appears to be clean and safe. There were several locals inside during both of my visits but the...
Read moreSplendid customer service, large selection of coffees, teas, different flavors, and vegan baked goodies. The coffee was very good, but not worth the price I paid. I removed a star due to the cost. A plain hot 12oz tea is over $3. I found that a little unreasonable. This was my first time here, and the board with the menu and prices listed non-dairy as an additional 75 cents. Ok, that's the usual price you'd see at most coffee shops. However, as I was being rung up, I was charged a full $1 just for requesting a non-dairy milk, and was told that the price "went up" and "hadn't been updated yet". I got the simplest 12oz latte and it came out to be nearly $6. I would've never ordered it if I had known beforehand, but I was already late for an appointment. I appreciate what they're trying to do here by expanding their options for people with certain restrictions. But I refuse to support any business that takes advantage of customers like me who have dairy allergies. It isn't right or fair. I urge this cafe to consider lowering the price back down (if it was ever even raised in the first place). Then maybe I'd give them...
