It's in a shopping center on Hanes Mall Blvd @ a stoplight right past Hanes Mall. So very easy 2 find. Since it's in a shopping center it has a huge wheelchair friendly parking lot. We were seated right away @ a huge booth that was able 2 easily hold my party of 6. Reservations weren't needed & they had plenty of open tables when we arrived. We received table service right away from a kind friendly helpful patient waiter that was happy 2 explain the menu options as well as helping us place our orders n a way that would save us the most $! They have a large menu w/ many options available which made me very happy by family may have went 2 enjoy the crab legs that night but I don't eat crab legs myself. The crab legs were expensive but my family thoroughly enjoyed them & commented that it was completely worth the $. I ordered a chicken & shrimp pasta dish & was shocked when such a large dish of food arrived 4 me 2 eat. It was so hot I had 2 wait several mins b4 I could taste any of it but once I finally could it was delicious. I received so much that evening that I was able 2 take it home & eat on it 3 more times after that! 2 drink I ordered a sweet tea & was not disappointed. It was southern style & tasty! They have a full bar 4 those that want a drink w/their meal. My mother got a margarita & she said it was delicious. My family got a plate of peel & eat shrimp 4 an appetizer & they disappeared quickly. My family really enjoyed the crab legs so despite the high price they kept on ordering lb after lb until everyone was so stuffed they could barely breath. LoL Needless 2 say we ended up w/a pretty high bill but everyone @ the table enjoyed it so much they agreed it was completely worth it & we will be returning...
Read moreFirst impressions was good, could have been better but not bad. Service was good and food was prompt. Started with calamari and crab dip. Both were good and a staple at most seafood joints. Their cook time on the calamari was perfect and tender while the dip was better then most. They cook their scallops just as well as their calamari and they were large! This was a good basket. Kids loved the popcorn shrimp and their serving is larger then most other places. Blackened mahi was on point and cooked as requested. Our only questionable dish was the Crabcake Sandwich (see picture). Huge patty that almost resembled a meatball sat on a naked bun and a leaf of lettuce.....maybe some aioli or something to soften to bring it together would be my only suggestion. However my guest enjoyed it very much.
What was missing was the type seafood platter which threw me off since this was a seafood joint but they do have oysters, King Crab, mussels, etc
Side note: the table next to us treated the server harshly and didn't crack a smile or utter a "thank you." To hopefully make up for the inconsiderate folks I was gracious to each ti.e she came by our table of 9 guests. Mid meal, she came up to me and asked if I wanted a beer on the house because it was an extra pour from the tap.....all I got to say is "karma," treat people how you would like to be treated and see what the universe rewards you with each...
Read moreSo I googled seafood in the triad area and King's Crab Shack comes up so my boyfriend and I look at the reviews and check it out. I ordered the crab leg entree and was completely unimpressed. I'm not big on complaining and I was starving so I tried my best to get through it but they were terribly over cooked and not fresh at all. I finally tell my waitress who, from the beginning, was fairly polite but not very informative for us being first time guest. I asked if they usually were served that way and she said it just depends. They were pretty bad. I told her I didn't want them and wasn't interested in anything else. The manager comes and says I heard there was a problem but doesn't take a breath to hear about my experience and says he can't take it off the bill because I ate too much (I never asked or mentioned that anything be removed from the bill). He did take off a decent amount from the entree which I thought was reasonable. I worked in the restaurant business for roughly eight years so I get all the ins and outs and I was really disappointed in my experience there. My boyfriend and I are easy $20+ tippers because I have a soft spot for severs but I couldn't get past how poorly the manager on duty (who was also bartending) handled the situation. We won't be back but hey, you win some and you lose some. Their hostesses were amazing though, definitely the best part of our dining...
