Edit:
Quality has taken a big hit since my first visit. When I first got a coffee flight, I was given three ~ 6 oz mugs of unique coffees. Each one tasted distinct, and the presentation was upscale. Second time around, each mug was at least 12 oz (way too much for one person), and the coffees all tasted basically the same. It tastes like the roasts weren’t as careful.
Oh, well. Once a great coffee shop, now mediocre.
— What a great coffee shop!
For years now, I've wished I could walk into a coffee shop and just try a flight of all their coffees. Waterbean is the first place I've personally seen do this, and it was so good. When you get a flight of coffees - they do flights of espresso too - you get to pick three and choose between pour-over, french press, and siphon. Each of the coffees I had tasted true to the descriptions on the menu.
I'm looking forward to going back. Amarissa was very kind. Everything else looked great, and imo, the coffee itself is up to par with higher-end...
Read moreStopped by this evening at 6:55 I ordered a medium cappuccino. The employee that was working reached me a small cup of cappuccino. I told her I paid for a medium I want a medium. She said that all cappuccinos come in the same cup size which is a small. I said why did you charge me for a medium then. She said we can charge you for a medium or large but you only get the small cup. I said why would I buy a medium or a large then why don’t I just bought a small and get a small cup. Very poor service to charge medium and large prices and then tell the customer no we don’t have medium and large cups we charge you for them but we reach you the small cup. I spend $100 a week in this place every week just to be told that I would pay for medium and large cups and only receive small. Course I won’t go back. I did ask her to refund my $7.25 which I paid for a bigger drink to be reached reached...
Read moreThis place could easily get five stars. The coffee is delicious. The baristas are super friendly and helpful. The place is very clean and I like the atmosphere.
However, I'd love to know why there is only ever one barista working in the mornings before 8 am. I understand that sometimes it's not going to be busy enough to need a full staff, but there should be enough baristas behind the bar so that it doesn't take 15+ minutes to get a coffee. More importantly, the baristas don't deserve to be overworked and stressed because management/owners don't want to pay for an extra pair of hands for the morning shift.
I still strongly recommend this cafe. The baristas do an amazing job even with limited staffing, but the owner/manager should take a page from other cafes and make sure it is...
