We spent the afternoon wandering the strip and everywhere we went people told us to eat at The HIgh Rock Cafe. We decided, why not? We had to wait our turn so we left our number and were paged when our table was ready. We are soooooo glad we chose this restaurant. It is owned by the Chef and it showed in the dishes we chose to share. The staff told us they all love what they do! That also showed in the smiles and cozy atmosphere created in this amazing Cafe. Store owners along the street told us to try the Gilly Goat so we did. It's a wonderful warm goat cheese appetizer with toasted bread and olive oil. It was DELISH and I almost always HATE goat cheese. This dish was so amazing I thought my eyes would get totally lost in the back of my brain where they rolled from the deliciousness! We also tried the warm pasta dish and the beet & spinach salad at the recommendation of nearby store owners. OMG!!!! It was so delicious that we forgot to take pictures until we were almost done eating it so forgive the way it looks in the picture. Try it for yourself. It's AHmazing!!!! We were among the last guests to be seated and when the restaurant began to noticeably slow we worried we were holding our server hostage. She was so kind when she informed us to not rush. "You guys are fine. Just enjoy your meal." We felt welcome and well cared for. It was the kind of customer service you almost NEVER see anymore and it really made our evening special. We had already had a fabulous day at Crowley Lavender Farms and this dinner was the perfect end to our day. After dinner, we walked along the Riverwalk and reflected on how nice it was to be treated like welcomed guests at a restaurant. This owner and these staff really get it right! The prices were perfect, the meal was delicious, and service was absolutely fabulous. Thank you High Rock Cafe. We are so glad we found you last night. You will definitely be remembered as one of the highlights of this trip! You were kind to us and to our Service dogs. That means so much more than you understand. We appreciate your tantalizing food, your comfortable venue, and your absolutely amazing staff! Thank you!

Updated 7-2-23...Everything I said before is still true two years later. Add the Harper and Smokey Luigi pasta dishes, but personally, I liked the Harper best! I added pictures of them. If you come to the Dells, make this a staple. It was worth every dollar. The service was superb beginning to end. They even went so far to tell customers as they were being seated where things like the restroom were. That is real attention to your customer! The servers knew what to offer and explain as the specialties of their menu, and they weren't wrong. Let's start with the pork potstickers. It was more than just the stickers tasting amazing, the salad bed it came on had a delicious light sweetness to it. The Asian influence was definitely felt here. Then we had the Soprano Sandwich, All American, and Big Kid Mac and Cheese. While I would LOVE to delve deep into the intricate and phenomenal tastes of these, I think it better that you just see the pictures and look at their menu. The portions, as you will see in the pictures were very filling! I will say that the Big Kid Mac and Cheese was huge, the Soprano was light and savery in a delightful way, and the All American was truly a journey for the taste buds and did an amazing job of combining several of the restaurants signature dishes into one culinary experience. We ended on the dessert suggestions of our server. There was The High Rock's fantastic take on the homemade Kit Kat with ice cream and whipped cream as well as the Dirt n' Worms chocolate mousse. Personally, I believe I will never find a better concept of the homemade Kit Kat than with the chef owners of this restaurant. I will be back because I will always want more. Now, you will want to keep in mind in terms of price that we had one appetizer, three entrées, and two desserts. When you take into account the location, huge portions, and amount of dishes we got, the price was very fair!

We came on a mini vacation to see some music and needed some food the next day after a late night of shenanigans. I always check out reviews before deciding on food because hello! it’s the easiest way to find the good stuff! After seeing the Julia Child quote on the wall I knew we had to go. High Rock did not disappoint. I was also sold after reading about the chefs they sound like some pretty cool dudes. Back to the food! The Bloody Mary was excellent, the Korean nachos were sooo good and also a huge portion….I was like whoa meat. Can’t forget our server Carolyne! She was fun, did a great job and put up with me. Gold stars ⭐️ All around. My boyfriend had the golden tiki sandwich with fries. Sandwich was good. I’d throw some fresh pineapple on it and I think it would be even better. Also whoever came up with that idea for the fries is genius. I had the Asian arancini and the ahi tuna and they were excellent. I’m a weird texture lover and this hit on all levels. Yum. Im still sad we didn’t get the Kit Kat dessert but we were so full I just couldn’t do it. The atmosphere there is fantastic and we really enjoyed it. I’d go back again anytime so I could eat all the things!

This place was highly recommended to us by a friend and it did not disappoint!! The food was dynamite! We went to a few other spots like The Del bar, B-lux but this place had the best tasting food. You’ll have to check it out. I got the All American. I am not a big fan of meatloaf but this was the best meatloaf I ever had and wish all meatloaf tasted like this. They have Mac and cheese smothered over the top of it with your choice of Sriracha as far as how spicy you like it. This Mac and cheese was really good. My wife and I have had plenty of bad Mac n cheese that was hyped up but this was on another level. Then the mashed potatoes are layered underneath the meatloaf which I thought was weird looking but actually tasted really good marinated in the meatloaf juice and mixed with the flavor of the Mac n cheese. Our desert was the Mint cheesecake with Oreo crust and it was amazing my wife especially liked it. Calli was our server and she did a phenomenal job explaining the menu and our options. We went 3-4pm. The biggest plus was it’s decently priced. We definitely recommended this and would say it’s a hidden gem in the Heart of the Downtown Dells.

If I could give 0 stars I would!!! So I took my 6 year old daughter here for her first Daddy/Daughter date. She ordered Mac and cheese with chicken and I ordered the only steak they had on the menu, we both had mt dew for beverages and a cheesecake to go. My daughter ate one bite of her food she didn't like it they drowned it with parsley flakes or whatever green leafy stuff they put in it knowing it was for a 6 year old that ordered ONLY Mac and cheese with chicken. I got the steak medium well and it came medium at best. It was extremely small and the veggies were VERY undercooked! Granted the steak did taste good (the little bit got). I GOT THE BILL AND WAS SHOCKED TO SEE $80. The steak alone was $40 at least triple the other dishes. My daughter also did not like/eat the cheesecake. We both left hungry and $80 in the hole. I highly recommend passing by here while looking for a nice place to eat, you I would think at that price they would at least have you acknowledge the price before ordering it. ROBBED!!!
