Wichoacana — Restaurant in Wisconsin Dells

This is a nice ice cream spot on the main drag in downtown Wisconsin Dells. The service is good, the prices are decent and the variety of options are beyond adequate. There was one flavor worth mentioning that I had never had before. Note that this shop is a Mexican dessert place that features ice cream. They had a flavor that caught my eye called Gansito. Apparently, gansito treats are a delicious Mexican snack cakes filled with strawberry compote and cream, dipped in chocolate and finished off with chocolate sprinkles. This ice cream flavor was evidently based on this. The sweet cream base was excellent and the infused chocolate offset the flavor wonderfully. I don't think I'd ever had ice cream quite this good. This flavor bumped this shop from a 4-star to a five. If you're in the Dells, it is more than worth the trouble...

So good, I had to go back a second time. The first time, I got a cup of sliced mango with tajin/chamoy. The mango was huge and juicy and came with the pit on a stick so you can keep gnawing on it. I think it also came with a spicy sweet sour tamarind candy. My bf got a strawberry agua fresca, which was sweet and refreshing.

We went in a second time later for popsicles, one kiwi and one horchata. The kiwi was icy and tart. The horchata was creamy and had a warmth from the cinnamon (even though it's a popsicle), and had chewy pieces of rice throughout.

Sooooooo good, I 100% recommend! I wanted to go back...

The cashier was really rude. Before we could decide about what we wanted to order, she yelled at us that the restrooms were just for customers, just moments after my daughter went into the restroom. And in front of other customers and very with a loud voice to make sure everyone can hear her. Even when some of us had ordered already, when we complained about it, she replied in a very disrespectful way, and she never even apologized for her behavior. I'm definitely never going back...
