Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Woodinville

This review is NOT about the ice cream - it is 100% about the SERVICE. On Friday afternoon, August 1, my husband and I took our son, DIL, and three grandchildren, all of whom are visiting from Germany, to this location for a truly American treat. We could not have felt more DISRESPECTED! The young woman behind the counter could NOT have been more rude. She RUSHED, RUSHED, RUSHED us through like we were cattle at a stockyard. While she was mixing one order, she was barking out, "NEXT ORDER!", over and over again. There were seven people in my party and a couple of other customers too. There was absolutely NO reason to rush us through the way she did. It was an extremely unpleasant experience for my German born grandchildren and Polish born DIL to experience this kind of unprofessional service in America. My family felt pressured to HURRY UP and make their decisions. Cold Stone is supposed to be about selecting your favorite flavors of ice cream and mix-ins, not, HURRY, HURRY, HURRY UP and just pick anything! This was the very first time for my grandchildren to experience this type of store, and Cold Stone, and I was, and am, very embarrassed by this interaction. It is not how I want my grandchildren and DIL to view American service. Needless to say, none of the seven of us will ever return to Cold Stone. One and done. If I can give a zero stars I would. My family and I, a total of 8 people, went here for ice cream and the 1 guy who prepared my husband’s order, messed up the order 3 times. The worker did not apologize for the error or credit us instead he tried to argue with my husband to the point the other male worker had to take this worker to the back of the store where we didn’t see him anymore while we were there. We let it pass, but when the store was going to close in 10min, there were 2 women who came in and we were still sitting in there eating our ice cream quietly when the male worker, who removed the 1st rude worker, he started to be rude at us and he told us we have to leave because their closing soon. I was pretty upset because they were still helping the two women with their order and there were still 10 min to closing. I think they mistreated us because we were minorities. Cold Stone is a pretty solid and consistent experience across all locations. I generally like the flavors they have, and their toppings. I don't consider their ice cream the best I've ever had, but it's still pretty nice, and you can do a lot of customization of toppings. Also, ice found that they are pretty generous with portions, especially compared to many other ice cream places you see nowadays. Of note, I got a single scoop here, and it was pretty much the equivalent of a double scoop in many other places. Overall, happy to go again, and my current score may just be a reflection that I haven't found the best combo of flavors and toppings for myself, honestly.
