Sam's Gyros & Kabobs — Restaurant in Woodland Park

I was thrilled to see this restaurant open in our beautiful community! When I went to get takeout- I was so happy with my experience! ♥️

The service was very good! The restaurant is very clean. The decor is vibrant and beautiful! It’s a wonderful atmosphere!

I got a beef gyro- hummus with warm pita bread- saffron rice- fries and baklava.

When I got home- we started with the warm pita bread and hummus. It was delicious! I will come back just for this dish. I love hummus! Their hummus is delicious!

We then tried the saffron rice. The smell of the rice is intoxicating. My husband loved it! I preferred the seasoned fries! Both are delicious!

I love gyros and got the beef gyro. It was huge and wonderful! I’ll have to order it without the peppers- next time! It was a little too spicy for me! 🌶️

Lastly- I have to admit I’m not a huge baklava fan. Whenever that’s the choice for dessert- I usually just skip it! When I ordered at Sam’s I went ahead and ordered the 3 types of baklava. I figured my husband would end up eating it. I decided to give it a try and the first bite was transformative. I am now a fan of one baklava- Sam’s baklava is stunning!

While I was waiting for my order- someone came in for a milkshake. That milkshake looked very tasty. I got a latte and next time I am going to get a Turkish coffee! I have read about it and I am excited to finally try it.

This is a really great place to get takeout or sit down and enjoy a meal! The food is phenomenal and the people are amazing! It’s so nice to have lots of good choices in our city. ♥️ I will be going back to Sam’s...

This place opened 4 days ago, and I was hoping I would be the first to give a huge 5 star shout-out to this place! I absolutely love Mediterranean food! And I am so picky about it! It's hard to find good tabouleh and babagunush. And oh my gosh....this place is awesome!

I arrived around 4pm and it was packed on a Saturday already for the dinner rush! The servers were back and forth and just super busy! Jaimie and Brittney were ensuring customers dining in as well as placing to-go orders were taken care of!

We ordered: beef gyro (they were out of lamb), seasoned fries, falafel plate, baba plate, tabouleh, and ultimate salad. WOW! All of it was amazing! The portions are a good size. The price...it's a bit high but isn't everything nowadays....so nothing unexpected! Cannot wait to go back and dine in. We will wait until things die down with the grand opening and visit again.

Hoping this place stays around! It's super yummy!

Update August 2023:

I really want to give this place another 5 stars but unfortunately the service was so slow at 2:30pm in the afternoon on a Thursday- with barely any customers present. The food was top notch as it always is when we do takeout....but the sit-down service was brutally brutally slow. I don't want to slam the restaurant so I am giving it 4 stars hoping that service will be better the next time we go.

**Get the ultimate salad....it's my go to and so yummy!

**Outdoor seating is really nice! Love the umbrella to sit under so the sun...

I ordered take out - a shawafel gyro. I went to where I was camping and ate it - and figured out that it didn’t have any of the veggies except lettuce and no tzatziki sauce. The flavor of meat was good, but the sandwich was dry without all the ingredients. I realize mistakes happen and it wasn’t the end of the world, but figured they would want to know rather than me posting a bad review.

I wasn’t in cell phone range for another week, so I couldn’t call right away and let them know. But I did a week later. The manager answered the phone. I told her about the gyro - but I didn’t have my receipt and I paid with cash. I figured it was hopeless to get another gyro, but she used my order name and looked it up! She happily and professionally gave me a complimentary sandwich the next time I was in town.

The complimentary gyro came with all listed ingredients and was excellent! There was so much flavor. They hit it out of the park with this gyro!

I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. I don’t mind mistakes- life is too short to get upset over a mismade sandwich. They did all the right things when I let them know and provided not only an excellent complimentary sandwich but provided excellent customer service as well.

I would highly recommend this place and look forward...
