I'm spend quite a bit of time on the road and eat a fast-food meal at least once a day nearly everyday of the week, and many Saturdays as well. Every time I come to the Woods Cross location, I am once again reminded that the Woods Cross McDonalds is consistently the worst McDonalds in all of the Greater Salt Lake area.
Anyway, on Saturday morning, May 25th, I drove into the drive through with one person ahead of me. When it was my turn, I pulled up to the order screen and sat there for several minutes waiting for someone to take my order. After about three minutes, I said, 'Hello?' when a male voice came over the speaker and said they were having technical issues with their computers and were not able to take orders at that time, but that they were working on the problem.
Meanwhile, several other vehicles had pulled in behind me leaving me no way out, because the cars that had already ordered where stuck in line ahead of the rest of us at the windows around the corner. Apparently, not only were they not able to take any orders, they were unable to fulfill the orders that were taken before their system failed.
After another couple of minutes, and with more cars pulling up behind the ever-lengthening line, I asked the speaker for an update on their progress. The same person as before said they were still working on issue. So by this time, I had been at the order screen for about 10 minutes.
Finally, a customer in the other line got out of his car and apprised everyone behind us of the situation at which time, the cars at the back of the line began backing out of the drive-through lanes. After nearly fifteen minutes of waiting, I was eventually able to get out myself. After my two short interactions with the person on the speaker, nobody from McDonalds ever came back on, and at no time did anyone come out to the drive-through area to inform us of what was happening, or to keep more cars from getting in line.
I understand that technology breaks down sometimes, but the situation should have been managed by the restaurant staff rather than abandoning the customers and leaving us to figure out what to do with absolutely no information. I have decided that I will no longer patronize this location but will instead, when in the area, visit the restaurant down the street in...
ย ย ย Read moreWent to the drive through at this McDonalds tonight and I ordered 1 medium French fry. Two Oreo McFlurrys and a number 2 with large fry. I asked the girl to please substitute the drink from the number two for one in the McFlurry If it was possible. She said yes, which was awesome. I donโt know if they originally had the medium French fry to the order because I thought the total amount for the food was fair Shame on me for not looking better at the screen. They mightโve missed it and I missed it too. No big deal. The problem came when I got to the first window. After I paid I happened to asked him if they got the medium french fry on our order. This poor kid had a meltdown and I told him twice twice itโs OK buddy not a big deal but it was a huge deal to him like he felt like he did something wrong so I said thatโs OK. Have a good night and I pulled forward.
Hereโs where the inexcusable poor service came from. The girl asked if I paid I said yes, but the gentleman at the first window had a big meltdown. She ignored that comment and handed me the McFlurry to proceed to tell me to pull around to the front and park in slot one. After she ignored my remark about the kid at the first window I told her no Iโm not moving until I get my order. She was very surprised, I did tell her they better hurry up and get my order so we donโt keep other people waiting. She repeated almost the same thing and said they didnโt want to keep people waiting. Is the reason I need to pull forward Also they wanted to make my food fresh. Hereโs the go getter. I said well you better hurry up. she looked at her manager said I wonโt pull forward. Immediately around back to me and handed me my food. I was at this pick up window for maybe 30 seconds total from start to driving off. only 10 seconds after I told her no I wouldnโt pull forward. Why would you have somebody pull forward For a 10 second wait? She slammed the window on me after handing me my food so I had a few choice words for her When I drove off. Last But not least my food was extremely fresh. The fries were super hot. Food was good service was the worst ever...

original review (2016): holy shnikes, this McDonald's is hardly functional.
just now, we'd been in the drive through for over ten minutes, and hadn't even moved up far enough to order. when we got to the speaker to order, we were quickly spoken at, unable to understand because they were speaking so fast. it turns out we were being asked to hold. a few minutes later, we were able to order. another fifteen minutes later, we're stuck in line and still haven't pulled up to pay. people are honking at each other in line. the whole drive through ordeal ended up taking a half an hour. this happened at 10:30 PM. the food was warm when we got it... we asked for no pickles, and when we got the sandwich, there were no pickles on the sandwich, rather there were pickles literally on top of the bun. at least they were easy to pick off... I didn't think it was so hard to put together a nearly premade sandwich.
the last time we came, the line didn't move for a full twenty minutes, and people were getting out of their cars and asking others to back up so they could leave.
the one experience I've had inside the store was--dare i say--mediocre at best. the kiosk system, quite frankly, is dumb. four employees stood around, doing nothing... appearing uncomfortable in their fancy new aprons. they only helped someone with the kiosk if they seemed confused (which, in my opinion, defeats the entire purpose of the kiosk). the tables were dirty, as were the floors, and no one was cleaning. the service is slow and unbearable.
zero out of ten, do not recommend. I'm surprised this place hasn't gone out of business due to the pace of...
