The food was ok. I had to add salt and pepper to my eggs and grits I prefer my food already seasoned but it was edible. Hubby had the corn beef hash and was not a fan and the fried potatoes was missing onions which should come standard. The customer service could stand to be a little better. (However after waiting 15 mins the owner or manager did offer us coffee as we waited to be seated) Hubby and I wanted to try something new so we googled good diners near us as we were at the casino and Peters popped up and decided to give it a try. Long story short the hostess wasn’t very friendly and she skipped our name and seated the locals. After waiting 20+ Mins I spoke with the presumed owner or manager and pointed to my husbands name on the paper and how we were skipped and he seated us right away at 1 of 2 tables that were readily available so why we were still waiting was beyond me but I didn’t make too much of a fuss as we still had to eat there. Upon seating, I noticed the not so friendly host answering phones, leave her stand and with No Gloves on put a few pieces of bread in the toaster with her unclean, unsanitized hands 🤮 needless to say we did NOT order toast, however the main cooks had gloves. Our waitress was nice, the plaid shirt owner/manager behind the counter was nice as well.Which is why I give 2 stars instead of 1.The silverware wasn’t clean so we asked for another set and that was dirty too so we opted for plastic forks in the...
Read moreI will preface my review with I travel and eat out A LOT and have A LOT to compare to. With that said, my review is very detailed. If all you want to know is if the food is edible, the answer is yes. If you need more to help you make a decision, please keep reading.
Food: Overall it is standard and straight forward. Not mindblowing but solid.
French Toast: Very good. Good seasoning and can really taste the cinnamon and vanilla.
Cornbeef Hash: Wasn't my vibe but I've also never had it before today. It was a bit salty to me.
Pecan Pancakes: Nothing special. On the menu it mentions these being "famous pancakes." They were a bit bland. My husband said "they taste like pancakes."
Country Ham Biscuit: This is served with a THICK piece of ham. I don't eat pork but my Father in Law thought the ham was too think. It looked good though. He said the biscuit was good.
They don't have grapefruit juice, even though it is on the menu.
Service: Excellent. All of the staff was very friendly and they moved through the wait quickly. We were told it would be a 30 min wait and it was EXACTLY that.
It's a diner overall. So the vibe is diner. It's a solid place to stop for breakfast if you want something fast and solid. If you are looking for a mindlowing breakfast though, I...
Read moreWife and I visited at 11:30 on a weekday. The restaurant was fairly busy, in spite of the time. She wanted breakfast and I wanted lunch so we tried to meet in the middle and chose here instead of Waffle House (which I soon quickly regretted). First the positives: it is a clean establishment and the waitress staff are friendly. The breakfast menu is great if you're a fan of pancakes and waffles, but outside of those options the choices were limited. I asked for a lunch menu and was told that all they had for lunch was a special (meatloaf), cheeseburgers, and a club. So don't come expecting much in the way of a lunch menu. I ordered the cheeseburger with Lettuce and Tomato, and then was told my only option for a side was potato chips. No fries or hash browns, nothing else. My wife pecan pancakes and corn beef hash. My burger was bland, definitely a frozen patty like the ones you get at Walmart with 25 in a box. Her pancakes looked good but had so many pecans that she couldn't enjoy them (pecan overload... See pictures). The corn beef hash was disgusting and she didn't eat more than two bites. I feel this restaurant has great potential, especially considering the lack of options now days in Cherokee, but sadly enough it fell far below...
