I've never been in a McDonalds where the customers were totally ignored like this place. I was there on a Monday night about 7:00 pm. I walked in and could see the facilities had been completely upgraded. There were only two cash registers and one was closed. After standing at a cash register to place my order, for about 5-minutes, and being totally ignored I started looking around and saw some kiosks with the words "Start Here" on them. So I went to one and started trying to figure out how to use it. It took almost 5 minutes to sort through the menu system to find out how to order a Cheeseburger. Then I had to figure out how to order more than one. Next was the challenge of finding French Fries and then a Drink. These menus are definitely not grouped for normal people. After 10 minutes I was finally able to touch the "Place Order" button. Then I had a number printed out and still had to go to the cash register to pay for it. Why did I have to tell the employee my order all over again? Once I paid I was given another number. While waiting I saw a young girl go up to the cash register to place an order. She too was totally ignored. I got her attention and told her she had to place the order through the kiosk. Where were the employees? Why did they just ignore the people who were standing at the cash register with a puzzled look on their face? There is no signage saying all orders had to be processed through the NEW kiosk system. We all thought the kiosks were just normal advertising things. And, I wonder how often these new kiosks are sanitized? Talk about the ability to start an epidemic! If I ever walk into another McDonalds and see this system I will just turn around, walk out and go to Burger King. I've never seen customers so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGiven the typical service quality overall of MCD's & how the divide between corporate, crew & how the stress falls to the customer as a result (I distinctly remember it in my experience as both crew & mgmt over a few years); I disliked McDonald's for decades.
Service is usually lacking as well as the food never really being as advertised. EVERYTHING is automated these days.
That's basically the overall.
Yet, my last experience with the MCD's near the Queensgate Plaza was decent...the restaurant was actually quite clean despite the busy day & the crew was great with my son. He's young & is impressionable...so he liked it. After all, it's McDonald's.
UPDATE: (April22nd2024) The friendly staff my son & I encountered (after not going to a McD's for quite some time) was a nice change. The friendly young girl at the counter had that "Spongebob Cheerfulness"; so I broke into my well-known (by friends & family) mimmicks of Spongebob (singing š¶The Best Day Everš¶) & also doing mimmicks of Patrick Starr, Squidward & Mr. Krabsš Once I got an "eyeroll" by an off-duty employee merely loitering after work (hey, buthhead...I'm the returning customer, so TREAD LIGHTLY) I broke into mimmicking Beavis & Butthead VERY ACCURATELY & pointing out that the "eyeroll kid" loitering was probably the Beavis & Butthead "Burger World" type hereš¤šš¤£ My son merely shrugged & said: "You shouldn't have provoked him, bruh." š¤£š¤£š¤£
I remember my McD's days-of-employment VERY WELL alsoš¤
We may return sooner rather...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would love to give -5 stars! This use to be the McDonaldās I trained at when I worked at McDonaldās and it use to be decent. Tonight was horrendous! When we ordered our food some worker was sitting on the floor with the girl at the first window. Then when I was handed my sons āhappy mealā I was handed a brown bag with a 6 piece ⦠the girl got smart and said āin our defense there are two different types of six piecesā ⦠I was appalled and said āIām not dumb! I worked at McDonaldās for 4 years!ā And I clearly stated ā6 piece happy meal with chocolate milkā when I ordered- this isnāt my first time ordering food at McDonaldās. I figured whatever my son got his nuggets I just want to go home. So I opened the box and there were 5 chicken nuggets⦠box clearly marked to be a 6 piece. I tried to call 15x (yes seriously) and it has a busy tone so we turned around and found the manager. Thankfully he was nice and understanding. He stated he already spoke to the worker about saying that kind of things prior⦠clearly sheās not comprehending thatās unacceptable. Sad a facility I use to go to for training, is going...
