Columbina Coffee Boutique — Restaurant in Tashkent

Colombino was a mixed bag. As in all cafes in Tashkent, even if the espresso is good, it is overwhelmed by the extraordinarily cow smelling milk. Not sure why at all.

We sat outside where there was only service if you went inside to ask for help, or if you grabbed the waiter when he was delivering food to someone else.

Frappe was big and sweet, but very liquidy. Was not thick at all.

The chicken Caesar salad was actually a warm chicken salad with fresh grilled or reheated rotisserie chicken. The chicken flavour did not match the Caesar sauce, but that didn't matter because it was not actually Caesar sauce but mayonnaise. They also added marinated mushrooms, which, to be honest, kind of turned a mediocre salad into something far worse.

Tashkent is a city full of the freshest and tastiest vegetables in the world. Why would the fajitas be made with canned sauces? Meat was good but the flavor was like cheap grocery store food.

Yesterday was good. Today was weird.

Yesterday had a nice waitress -- professional and attentive.

Today had a strange waitress with unpleasant attitude who seemed to not want me there. Short girl with short blonde hair. Seems to be a Russian.

This place has a lot of Russian customers. Maybe the Russian staff (or Russo-uzbek staff) don't like non-Russians. Who knows. The staff who are obviously uzbek -- they seem fine.

The coffee is good and served in big cups that are full.

The cold tea is in a glass half full of ice. For 40,000 som, that's...

My experience in this place was a bitter one…. Although, I was pleased to find some Colombian and Brazilian coffee in this small business, I was disgusted by the displayed picture of Pablo Escobar and the presence of ladies vaping indoors. Nobody returned after the photos taken there..to check if I wanted to eat something with my Americano. I believe Uzbeks would not use a picture of Stalin to decorate a room, same as Germans wouldn’t pic one of Hitler… well, it’s the same impression that decent Colombians have about this criminal.
