I went to O'Pera on two occasions while staying at the Wyndham Hotel in Tashkent. In general, the service was pretty standard. While I appreciate the convenience/location, unfortunately, I did not like the food (particularly on my second visit). The first time I got a Caesar salad and the mushroom pasta - both were pretty good and I was satisfied. On my first visit, however, I was unaware that much of the restaurant allows smoking (almost the entire front of the restaurant), and as I accidentally sat in the smoking section, it was quite hard to breathe when multiple tables around you are smoking.
On my second visit, I ordered the cheeseburger, which was almost inedible. The cheeseburger was unlike any I have ever tried - it was obviously a pre-made patty but, not made of hamburger meat. It tasted more like gyro/shawarma than a traditional hamburger. I do NOT recommend it to foreign travelers. As a side note, the fries which came with the burger were cold and dry (likely because they were fried too long or were not fresh). In the end, I couldn't finish eating the "meat" from the burger due to the taste and just ate the bread, lettuce, onion, and pickle.
The final/sticking point (and the reason I will not return) is prices at O'Pera are extremely high. For one drink (non-alcoholic Mojito) and the truly disappointing Cheeseburger meal, it cost $19-20 USD (228,000 UZS) which is a lot for a good meal in Tashkent and painful to pay for a bad one. I cannot recommend O'Pera for visitors to Uzbekistan (even those staying at the Wyndham), there is so much good food in Tashkent - it is definitely worth going somewhere else to eat (no matter how...
