This restaurant specializes in two dishes: 1) stewed chicken made with mugwort and medicinal herbs and 2) banh cuon nong. I ordered the banh cuon nong with cha. The steamed banh cuon is made with skillful hands and comes out hot and fresh! The banh cuon rice flour rolls are stuffed with ground pork and wood ear mushrooms. It's served with a herb platter (perilla, cilantro, mint), lime, chiles, and you can make your own dipping fish sauce. It reminded me of my mom's home cooking. The banh cuon was so delicious that my travel partner and I ate 3 plates. The family that runs the place is very kind, and they can help teach you how to eat it. The pricing is straightforward and a good deal. 25k per plate of banh cuon OR 30k for banh cuon with cha (meat patty that is steamed then fried). This is a kind reminder to have some patience as each roll of banh cuon is lovingly steamed one by one. Banh cuon is most delicious when it is hot and fresh! Bring cash and go early for dinner as they will run out. There are 2 small tables inside. This is mainly a local's spot. Come for an authentic local experience eating in a smallish alleyway. Next time, I am coming back to try their extra...
