Disappointing Experience at Pizza 4P’s – Lotte Department Store, Hanoi (17/07/25)

As a long-time fan of Pizza 4P’s, this was a truly disappointing experience and the only bad one I’ve had with the brand. I visited the Lotte Department Store branch right after landing in Hanoi, having booked in advance to ensure a smooth dinner. Unfortunately, the service was disorganized from the very beginning.

No one greeted us when we arrived, despite the reservation. We stood around awkwardly for several minutes and eventually had to walk up to the staff ourselves to ask to be seated. After that, we were asked to wait again, which was understandable but even once seated, no one offered water or checked in. While we did order drinks, we’re used to being served water immediately while waiting for them. Here, nothing was offered until we followed up.

Service continued to fall short throughout the meal. Our lasagna arrived first, and we finished it entirely yet we waited an additional 20 to 30 minutes for our pizza to arrive. We had to ask the staff to check on it twice, and at one point they came back to re-confirm our order, which made us assume it had been forgotten. While we had e-ordered everything ahead of time, the kitchen clearly didn’t manage the sequence or timing well.

What made this experience frustrating wasn’t just the delay, but the overall lack of attentiveness and care, something 4P’s usually excels at. There was no sense of hospitality, and we were left feeling more like a burden than a welcomed guest.

Pizza 4P’s has built a strong reputation for quality and service, and I’ve always spoken highly of it. But this branch does not reflect the brand standard, not in food pacing, not in guest treatment, and not in basic service fundamentals.

I have to revise my review due to the decrease in service. Recently, I feel that the staffs in 4p Lotte are not friendly and attentive as the other locations. And yesterday was the worst. We came for dinner, they informed us that they charged 10% for service fee due to the holiday. We were fine because it was holiday. But if you additionally charge service fee, we expect that the service would remain as 4p's normal standard. But we were not happy at all with the service yesterday. (1) The staff was not paying attention when taking order. I was ordering and he turned to talk with the other staff. (2) They did not provide tableware and seasoning set. We were seating at the bar. When the foods came, we have no knife, folk, seasoning set. I asked them, and the staff came back bringing only knife and folk. I have to ask again for the seasoning set. (3) They served the pasta without asking whether we want them to divide the pasta portion. As a frequent customer, I know they always offer it. (4) Except for 1 lady in black, none of the staffs serving us are friendly. We are the frequent customers of 4p not only because of the foods, but the service is always great.
