A heartwarming Culinary Experience - Tet Restaurant, Hanoi.

Where do I even begin? From the moment we stepped into Tet Restaurant, we were welcomed with warmth, smiles, and an unforgettable sense of hospitality. The staff here didn’t just serve us food, they made us feel like we had walked into a close friend’s home, where every little detail was designed to make us comfortable and happy.

The hospitality and service were so remarkable that we couldn’t resist going back for one last meal before leaving Vietnam. And what a decision that was! The experience started with a cup of warm, fragrant herbal tea, which was endlessly refilled as we waited for our food. It was such a simple yet thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the meal.

Now, let’s talk about the food. Bun Cha Chay, Pho Chay, and Phu Cuon Chay—every single dish was a burst of flavors, fresh ingredients, and authenticity. Each bite left us craving for more, proving that Vietnamese cuisine has just as much to offer for vegetarians as it does for meat lovers. On our second visit, we were surprised to find larger portions and extra pieces, a sweet, unspoken gesture from the staff that truly touched our hearts.

Beyond the food, the manager personally visited every table, ensuring that everyone was enjoying their meal, which speaks volumes about the care and passion they put into their service. The staff here are more than just servers, they are storytellers, caretakers, and now, friends.

I’m sure they’ll still remember us for the fun moment when we taught them how we drink beer in India! 🍻(Orange Slice 😉)

Of all the incredible things we did in Vietnam, dining at Tet Restaurant stands as one of our most cherished memories.

I recently visited these restaurant with two friends, expecting a great experience based on its glowing 5-star reviews. Unfortunately, our visit was far from satisfactory.

Firstly, the service was poorly timed—my friends’ meals arrived 10 minutes before mine and were already cold when served. As for my own meal, I ordered duck, which turned out to be absolutely terrible. The texture was unpleasant, and the flavor was nothing like what I would expect from a dish that should be a highlight of Vietnamese cuisine.

I’m genuinely baffled as to how this restaurant has exclusively 5-star reviews. Based on my experience, I can’t recommend it, and I hope the management takes steps to improve both the quality of the food and the timing of service.

Update to My Review: Improved Service

After my initial disappointment, I must acknowledge that the manager handled the situation well. He personally apologized for the issues with our meals and even waived the cost of my dish. To make up for the experience, he also invited us to enjoy a beer on the house.

While the food quality still left something to be desired, the service and the manager's effort to address our concerns were commendable. This gesture shows they care about their customers, which is...

“Warning: Fake reviews and questionable practices!”

I want to warn future guests not to be misled by the seemingly positive reviews of this restaurant. My visit on January 16th was a complete disappointment: the food was of poor quality, tasteless, and the overall atmosphere left much to be desired. Even before the food was served, I had already lost my appetite. When I visited the restroom, I found feces-covered tissues in an open trash bin – an absolute hygiene nightmare and completely unacceptable.

After writing an honest negative review, I was asked at the checkout to withdraw it. I was promised that the meal would not be charged if I deleted the review. I only received my change after removing the review. This practice is not only unprofessional but clearly shows that this restaurant deliberately manipulates its online reviews.

I will rewrite this review every time it is removed by the restaurant. It is important to me to warn future guests about these conditions. Honest feedback is obviously not welcome here, and the seemingly positive reviews appear to be under questionable circumstances. Trust restaurants that value transparency, quality, and...

This is probably one of the rare times a highly rated restaurant that is actually disappointing! The fruit salad we ordered was a mix of watermelon, turnips, a few dragon fruit, dried raisin, almonds and tomatoes tossed with i guess mayonnaise. Nothing special. The beef wasn't too bad though the serving was lacking for the price! The picture makes it big.. it's not! The most expensive and disappointing of all was the chicken wings, two and a half wings to be exact! Five pieces when chopped for an astronomical price of 250000 VND. It was dry and hard as was the service of their staff! To be fair.. maybe it's what we ordered! Should've chosen Vietnamese cuisine! But damn!! To pay 800k VND and be disappointed.. such a waste of money. We were happier and fuller with street foods..

Of all the restaurants that we’ve been to, this is where we truly felt the comfort of their food. I also loved how accommodating and friendly our server at that time, not just because he can communicate in English properly but simply because he’s friendly and took effort in answering our questions and also explains the menu(sad that we didn’t get his name or took his photo) We ate here on our last day but if only discovered it soon, we would surely come back. I highly recommend this place, the flavor of the chicken pho isn’t too strong yet it’s hearty, we also love the seafood rice-when he said it’s filling, it truly was. Looking forward to visiting Vietnam and eating here again :)
