I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lan Ong Restaurant twice (which by the way means the Orchid), and I must say, it was an exceptional experience both times! From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, and speak English perfectly. They made sure every detail was perfect, and their friendly demeanor added a personal touch to the dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious! Each dish was bursting with authentic Vietnamese flavors, and the presentation was impeccable. I highly recommend trying the Grilled catfish, which was a standout for me which I ordered in both experience. The freshness and quality of the ingredients truly shone through in every bite. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a charming decor that transports you away from the busy street hustles of the old quarter. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or even by yourself, the cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for any occasion. Lastly, the value for money is fantastic. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable considering the high quality of the food and service. It's a great place to enjoy a wonderful meal without breaking the bank. Overall, Lan Ong Restaurant has quickly become one of my favorite dining spots in Hanoi old quarter. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delicious menu. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The place take cash but if you use credit card or debit card you'll be charged and additional 3% of service charge. This restaurant claim to be the authentic Vietnamese restaurant. I think they've come pretty close. I like the soft shell Crab roll and the shrimp and mango roll. The beef roll was just okay nothing special. The soup is edible not really outstanding. The mushroom salad I didn't realize it's basically all mushroom different types but it does taste good. The duck Pho, The soup base is good but there's a lot to be improve on. First of all they use a cast iron teapot to hold the soup. Problem is that if the teapot it's cold and you pour hot soup into the teapot the soup itself gets lukewarm when it's ready to serve. That's what happened The first time they serve me and I had them take it back because I don't like to eat lukewarm pho. I understand the teapot is for show but if they have heat up the teapot with the soup in it and once the soup is boiling it will keep it hot for a long time. This restaurant is not cheap either compared to surrounding restaurant serving similar Vietnamese food. For granted that their flavor and taste are indeed better but the price different it's something to consider.

Probably the coziest restaurant in Hanoi. Very good atmosphere, the waiters seem happy and confident, it feels like there is a good management behind. I had a duck liver paté as a starter, which was not even close to the quality, we get in europe, a bit sad. Ordered barbecue pork as main, mostly because at that point I had enough of soup and rice noodles in Vietnam. Well, this dish turned out to be a soup with rice noodles ( which was not mentioned on the menu card ) and some meat balls on a stick. The soup was very tasty, but the meat balls were quiet chewy. Honestly I do not remember, what I had for dessert - it was easy forgettable. But I need to mention, that we were dining there as a family of six, and most of us got some really delicious dishes. Although I was unlucky with my choices, decided to rate the place with 5 stars. But then the waitress came with a QR code, and asked us to rate them on Google. That turned my experience into 4 stars :)

During my recent trip to Hanoi, I had the pleasure of dining at an exceptional restaurant that left a lasting impression. From the moment I stepped in, the warm ambiance, inviting décor, and the aroma of authentic Vietnamese cuisine set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

What truly elevated the experience was the impeccable service provided by the staff, especially Vicky and John. Vicky welcomed us with a bright smile and genuine hospitality, guiding us through the menu with insightful recommendations tailored to our tastes. Her knowledge of the dishes and attention to detail made us feel truly cared for.

John, who served our table, was equally impressive. His friendly demeanor and professionalism ensured that our dining experience was seamless. He was attentive without being intrusive, always ready to refill our glasses or check in with a polite, “Is everything to your liking?” – and it absolutely was!

The food was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was a perfect balance of fresh ingredients and bold flavors.

Overall, this restaurant is a gem in Hanoi’s culinary scene. The combination of delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and outstanding service from Vicky and John made it one of the highlights of my trip. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable dining experience in Hanoi. I’ll...

I was introduced to this restaurant through a lovely staff of a 6 star cruise ship. My first impression of the restaurant that it is small and cozy. The restaurant gives you the old Ha Noi vibe but in the modern stay. Th food was really good however the service was a little disappointing. I know the restaurant was new so there would be some hiccups in service but i also learned that they ran a 2 month soft opening, that means they could have got things under control. During our visit, there was another table that had some complaints about their food/drink. The server gave that table full attentions and all the special treatments that they forgot there were other guests that were waiting. We waited 10-15 minutes for them to realized we finished our food and they needed to clean our table to bring the next dish up. We had to wait 15minutes for the check to come out. During the time we with other guests saw the staff attending the “trouble” table, provided them gifts, vouchers and countless apologies. It just made us feel like we were not as important. Though this wasn’t a very good experience, the food on the other hand was perfect. I’m sure when and if they can get their service under control, this restaurant can be on the top list for many. I hope they will get their service together soon before losing too...
