Vua's Desserts And Cakerie — Restaurant in Hà Nội

So I actually walked past this place because the sign says “Vua Tao Pho”. Then I realised it probably was the right place, but just so you know! Anyhow once inside, the menu was totally in Vietnamese (no complaints- I should learn the language lol, just to let you know it’s a bit of a lucky dip). The staff tried to help me as much as they could with their limited English. I chose one of the brown sugar deserts (with all the ingredients/jellys/toppings). I did enjoy it but I have a particular sweet tooth so could’ve probably had it a bit sweeter. It was a good experiment. Some of the textures were a bit odd, but altogether it worked. Absolutely disgraceful experience. We arrived and were immediately mocked by the staff — laughing at us openly like we were a joke. The disrespect was instant and obvious. At payment, they straight up tried to scam us out of 100,000 VND, thinking we wouldn’t notice.

We weren’t even served like normal customers — we had to get our own food from the counter while they were serving Vietnamese guests at the table like royalty. The double standards and blatant discrimination were disgusting.

Avoid this place unless you enjoy being laughed at, scammed, and treated like trash. One of the worst spots we’ve been to in Vietnam — and that’s saying something.
