What a shame this place has everything! An amazing atmosphere and a great act. The prices are good and the staff seem great. Unfortunately, they can’t make cocktails, so don’t order one. I asked for a cocktail with correct ingredients and decided on discussion I would ordern half a larger. They came back and said we can do it at further cost, I said don’t worry half a larger is fine. They then came back and said it’s our mistake we can make you one. The drink I then received was full of bits of paper. Obviously, I sent this back and received an acceptable drink in its replace. I then stupidly ordered another drink of the same kind this came like what only I can describe as a glass of warm piss. So I took it back and said the first was good apart from the paper the second was acceptable, and this one the third is like water. I asked the bar staff for a refund, however, they pored it away and made a fresh one and it was perfect. Stupidly I went back to the bar and asked for another and the bar staff waved a bottle in my face aggressively say we don’t have enough alcohol. The bottle had more than enough alcohol in it to make part of the cocktail up. I walked away and told a member of staff I would like to speak to the manageress. She stated she’s not around, I said that’s please can you send her over I would like to speak to her, but in private. She eventually came over, I pointed and said let’s do this privately. So we went and spoke aside she was very rude and very arrogant like her bar staff not apologetic or even empathetic. I unfortunately lost my temper with how disgusting her behaviour and attitude was towards me. Me losing my emotions with this individual is unacceptable and for that I apologise. No buts and no ifs or however s. Please visit and see how good your own experience is! For me I will need only a...
Read moreHonestly never done one of these reviews before but I felt compelled today as it was utterly hilarious the “Christmas Dinner” that The Shamrock provided.
Obviously like many others I knew the meal wouldn't be like home and my expectations were low to begin with, (Booked from 4-5 didn't get food till 6) but they managed to provide a standard even lower than my expectations.
Turkey, Ham, mash, stuffing and cranberry sauce. 5 items, arguably 3 main ones being the turkey, ham and mash.
I honestly don’t even think they even tried???
If you showed aliens that had never been to planet earth before 5 images of a Christmas dinner. Actually not even 5, thats a wee bit too generous, lets say two images of a Christmas dinner.
The alien race would provide a larger portion size than the Shamrock.
Lord above.
Credit where credit is due, the turkey and ham were great no complaints. Mash was bang average not buttery or creamy at all and cranberry sauce and stuffing where as decent as they can be.
“Chocolate brownie” wasnt even a brownie it was a bit of hard chocolate cake for god’s sake, but I don’t want to get into it.
For 600,000 dong or £21 quid my Irish grandmother would have a heart attack.
Kind of makes sense in hindsight as to why there is no images of their Christmas dinner, as surely you'd be proud and want to show a great plate of food off to convince customers to enjoy a lovely homely meal. However the quality is obviously too lacking to even capture by image.
Today is a momentous day as never in my life have I walked away hungry from eating a Christmas dinner. But fair play, the Shamrock made history today. In making this this the most memorable Christmas dinner of my...
Read moreThe location and drinks, are great! But the food, I would avoid it completely. I ordered Chips with gravy and Ribeye steak with mushroom sauce and salad.
Chips with Gravy sauce: The chips are okay, french fries will always end well, but when it comes to gravy, well there was none. Got ketchup and mayonnaise instead (didn't ask for them, though), and I am actually grateful for that! I don't trust their sauces, will say why in a moment.
Australian ribeye steak, with creamy mushroom sauce and garden salad: Unfortunately, the salad was the best part of the dish. The steak was very thin, and even though I ordered medium-well, I got well - well-done. The creamy mushroom sauce was very very sweet, which doesn't go well at all with the fat in the steak. I didn't feel any salt in it, and there was none on the table either. Thankfully, the salad was helping with the nauseous, but there wasn't enough of it. The steak alone (with the sauce and salad) costed 460k, roughly 22$. That's a big price. I think that even half the price wouldn't have been reasonable.
Now, I know that I could have asked for the condiments, the real gravy sauce for potatoes, for a good steak, but I dislike the idea of complaining in order to get the expected service... I believe that in a good restaurant, the customer will never have to complain, to be treated correctly.
I don't want to leave a negative review, because the staff was very nice, I didn't feel like I was mistreated by them, but I want to share my experience. Next time I will...
