Disappointing experience at Hong Phuc 2.
Our visit to Hong Phuc 2 left much to be desired. Upon ordering half and half pizza consisting of chicken pineapple and ham, mushroom and olives, we were met with a dish that fell short of even basic expectations. The pizza was so dry barely any red sauce was used and heavily lacked in flavour, rendering it nearly inedible leaving us very disappointed especially with a sign claiming to be the best woodfire pizza here in old town Hoi An, nothing but lies. They should take some lesson on how to make pizza from Goodmorning Vietnam a better pizza establishment that is also in old town Hoi An
Unfortunately, our dissatisfaction didn’t end there. Hong Phuc 2 claim to have A/C in their establishment, written on their welcome sign, that fell short with barely any cold air coming out from the mini split A/C units. They even had to resort to standing fans in attempt to cool us down.
If you happen to come by here and still want to check it out, pass on the pizza as most of the customers were enjoying beers and local Vietnamese dishes, this place felt like a jack of all trade with the options of Asian and Western food available but master of none with the quality presented.
The lack of trust and food quality left a sour taste in our mouths, overshadowing any enjoyment we may have had from the rest of our meal. While the ambiance of Hong Phuc 2 may be charming with a back view to the river, the misleading of 'best Pizza in town' and having 'A/C' has left us hesitant to return back. As paying customers, we want a certain level of quality and fairness, neither of which were upheld during our experience at...
Read moreFood is okay and the price is okay. However, 3 times they staff tried some dirty tricks to try and overcharge us...
Scam 1 - My friend wanted a Larue beer that was on the menu but the waitress said they only sold fresh draft beer (which was triple the price of a Larue. After various conversations and showing the menu which had Larue beer on it we were able to order thr Larue beer. The obvious intention was to get us to buy the more expensive beer instead of the beer we wanted.
Scam 2 - My friend and I split the bill and after he paid his amount, they overcharged me by 100,000VND. A mistake perhaps, but deducting how much my friend paid and how much I was due to pay was as a very simple sum to calculate...
Scam 3 - A minute after paying I thought about the change I was given and realised that again we were overcharged. So we went back and showed the receipt and we were finally given the right change.
I am writing this review because I think it's wrong to do what they are doing taking advantage of tourists who are unfamiliar with the Vietnamese currency. I very rarely write reviews especially negative reviews but the fact that they tried 3 times to overcharge us...
Read moreThe food and ambience are actually okay but the handling of the tables on the second floor is unacceptable.
From the street they are showing you the two nice tables upstairs at the front. Then you go upstairs and they tell you that the front tables are reserved. As you went up you will not leave for that reason, but you did not get what you came for. That is pure calculation and not the fair way to treat guests. Not Vietnamese and a behavior of really touristic places. Both tables were not occupied the entire time we were there, so there was no reservation. I even offered that we would change the table if the reservation would arrive, but no chance. We were almost the only guests at that time.
For that reason we would not recommend this restaurant.
We have been here twice but we realized the tourist-milking attitude only at our...
