No problem with the Starbucks itself but the security guard seems to be running a scam to make tourist pay for parking and not locals?

I'm not a tourist, I've lived-in Vietnam for five years so unfortunately I'm all too aware of these kind of things.

After talking with foriegn friends who also live here, they have also experienced the same thing at the same Starbucks so I hope something can be done about it to avoid tourists having a bad experience in Vietnam and thinking badly of this wonderful country.

So here's what happened... I arrived and tried to park outside the store where locals are parking, was told no space and have to park down an alley opposite. There was free space and I've parked outside before when with my Vietnamese friends, so why today do I have to park so far away? Whatever, I just do it and go get my coffee.

Upon returning to get my bike, I see locals taking their bikes without having to pay any fee (I mean, why would we? We are customers of Starbucks) but whilst trying to leave the alleyway that I was forced to park down, I heard a woman say in Vietnamese "Tây" (foreigner!) and I have to pay money. I'm shocked and just look at her with disbelief. I even ask "Tại sao ạ?" but she just looks at me blankly, maybe she doesn't understand my Vietnamese... whatever, I pay it, I have things to do.

It's left a really bad taste in my mouth and I'm sure Starbucks wants an enjoyable experience for their customers, not foreign customers leaving feeling angry because they've been scammed. I complained to my friends about it and two of them had identical experience.......
