Al Fresco's Mạc Đĩnh Chi — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I'm sorry to have to post this, I usually won't post negativity unless it is warranted. We sat down, and 40 minutes later, the group next to us had their pizza. They had only been seated for 20 minutes. When we asked the server what the issue was, we were told that something got stuck in the oven. They compensated us with some garlic bread. I can say that this location needs training and customer service skills. The location in District 2 Thảo Điền is a much better run location. We were also told that the combo specials that were so brightly posted on the walls were not available because it's Christmas Eve. This might be their policy, I am not sure. But it seems intelligent to post that on the signs with just a sticker for the days affected. The French fries were the highlight of the meal. Crispy and hot (simply awesome). The pizzas were okay. The large thin crust Hawaiian pizza had so few pineapple pieces that I could count them on one hand. The 4 cheese pizza was better. The highlight was seeing one of the employees wearing his hat sideways. That actually symbolizes the way the location was run on this day. With that said, it could be a one-off. Maybe they were just not prepared for the level of business they received this day. I will stick with the Thao...

By far the most terrible service I have ever had in a restaurant and far below any i have experienced in vietnam. The food was acceptable but not good and very expensive for the at best average quality. Ordered a glass of red wine and a beer whilst we decided what to eat. The waiter did not bring any drinks and waited till we ordered food. When the drinks arrived they brought white wine not red so had to try again. I was then told they had run out of the calamari I had ordered as a starter, the head waiter presumed I would therefore not want a stater, so when I said if I could have chicken wings instead I got a shocked look and a response of 'your food is ready'. We were brought the starter my wife had ordered and then the mains. As I had not yet had my starter I cancelled it only to be presented by a bill for the starter I had not had. They did take it off the bill when challenge. I guess I could blame the waiter as he was very new there and was struggling. However he advised us at the start he was new and we said would not be an issue, he was not the problem. Personally I think it is a lack of customer care from management as the head waiter could not care less if he tried. Please just eat elsewhere and if you want a great burger go to Hoi An and visit...

Alfresco restaurant is very near my office, around 5 mins by walk. I am very happy that we can have a table here with reservation, thank God 🥳🥳🥳

This place is packed with people during lunch time because so many offices on this street so make sure to make a reservation first if you come as a big group of guest.

Variety of dish for your choice, mostly pizza and pasta, fried food. The food is very delicious. The fried squid slices and salad are very refeshing. Pizza is ok, jot very impressive to me. Pasta is also the same. The serving time is very long, we had to wait for than 30 mins for food but i can understand maybe so many orders at lunch time.

Table is very clean and tidy. The seats are also very clean too. Love it. The price is also very good, around 250k VND for one person. At this price point, i think this is a good place for a team meeting for friend meeting, bot very expensive and food is also ok.

The space is very big. We don't have to seat so close to other tables which is also nice. I'll give a 9/10 for Alfesco 😍😋😋
