Mr. Bistek — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Decided to eat steak today. Ordered a 200gm Australian steak, a mushroom soup & a rose lychee drink. Appertiser (a 6 inch banh mi without fillings) was served without any butter to go with. Next, the mushroom soup was served without any spoon, followed by the steak (ordered medium to well done), but it looks like very well done. Beef was tough and seemed to be right out of the fridge. Portion appears to be 140gms rather than 200gms. Most importantly was that throughout the meal, I had a great companion housefly buzzing around my meal. No serviette was provided and throughout the meal, I had to request 3 times for the service staff (who appeared to be non-attentive to the customer's needs, texting into their mobile phone), first the spoon, second to double check on the portion size and third to request for serviette. This is not my first visit to Mr Bistek. I had visited HCM and stayed at the same hotel nearby Mr Bistek and on my 2 previous visits, I was extremely satisfied with the staff who were very happy and attentive to the customer's needs, but the entire staff now seemed to be totally new. It's been awhile since I had steak. I think we've been fortunate to have tried all sorts of steak around the world. I'll give a fair review as I can. They honestly deserve 5 stars but were lacking in a few things (see below). Hopefully management can fix it. The good part: Ambience was nice and decor of the place was decent with good space between tables. The food presentation was good. I love the extra fire display (lightly cooking steak with alcohol). Price is good, evenfor foreigners. Selection of food was very good considering it's a steak place. The bad, or needs improvements: The sauce is very light and lacking flavor (pepper sauce would taste better if lightly crushed). Even the salad sauce was very light for ranch dressing (can't even tell it was ranch if you closed your eyes) 😆. The baguettes was soft and nice to eat but the garlic bread was so hard that you could use as a weapon. If the garlic bread was as nice to chew as the baguettes were... That would have been great. I have been to this place today, look through the menu and had order 1 steak. I ordered a 200g of Aussie beef steak with pepper sauces, steak deco along with some salads, dish go with a bread. After finished it,i would say: The steak is great, juicy, soft, medium rare was controlled well. Garnishes very nice, fabulous aroma. But the pepper sauce still can have some improvement, the sauce got a little bit too much sweet. Also, steak should served with veggie which can be full such as: roasted/boiled - potatoes/pumpkins/cauliflowers etc ( for a foreigner I’m not really like bread serve with steak).
