We ate at Hoa Tâm twice during our 4 days in Sa Pa and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
The restaurant is based in the ladies house which made it quite a unique experience. There was a great selection of food and everything was cooked fresh to order. It came in a soy based sauce with a bit of chilli too and the fish itself was wrapped in seaweed to get the fishy taste, but wasn’t too overpowering as I had experienced with other seaweed dishes I had tried before.
The second time we visited we got vegan pork rib which was incredible, it came cubed in a sweet and sticky sauce. Read moreThere is only 1 actual vegetarian/vegan restaurant in SaPa. Despite having a hard time to find it, with the help of the friendly locals, we were able to come in. Located in small alley and I secured because of the new construction next to it.
The owner herself is the cook, while showing perfect hospitality to us. My partner was Vietnamese and were able to talk to her (despite her broken English).
First night we arrived, exactly we arrived just as she closed the doors, she invited us in to have a dinner in. 2 days that were spent in Sa Pa, we went to this restaurant 4x. All this times, we also noticed that her hospitality to the other guests was perfect. We helped her to translate to English and once she had offered a takeaway with extra rice to other customers. Good job...
Read moreBest Vietnamese food we've had on our trip hands down . And everything is vegan . You get to eat in their living room And share a bit of their ways of living which we really enjoyed . If you offer to take your shoes off before entering you will be told " no!" By the cutest little baby ever. It is located higher up than the village so the weather is wonderful . We had the stir fried vegetables glass noodles and the tofu patties. Both were incredibly flavorful. We left with big smiles on our faces as they waved us goodbye . Give this place a try. It will fill your heart and stomach with love.
( We were too excited after the tofu patties that we forgot to take the noodles...
