This was possibly the worst quality hotel I have stayed in for a long time. My partner booked an executive apartment for two nights and advised the payment had already been covered so I didn’t need to worry (he was travelling from another region). I checked in ahead and the first thing I was asked was how the bill was going to be settled. I corrected them, no apology but a very casual chatty response to this. I went to the room and was immediately struck by a very stale smell. I waved to my partner from the balcony when he pulled up, and when he went to check in, he was told he was at the wrong place(?). Once again the administration for check in wasn’t up to scratch. A poor and minuscule selection of basic instant coffee and tea bags-no coffee pod machine as noted- and one lonely tiny UHT milk container in the fridge. Bathroom has mould in the tile grouting, around the sink and bath plug holes. There was no venting system and so the bathroom was fogged up as soon as I had a shower. Looked behind the door and the washing machine and dryer were caked in fluff- obviously no venting system there either. No instruction manuals for the television or and other appliances. Furniture/ skirting boards/ balcony and outdoor furniture were dirty/stained Stove top/ microwave had greasy marks and baked on dirt. Crockery/ glasses, utensils and cutlery seemed to be odds and ends grabbed from wherever, and I had to stand on a chair to even reach the mismatched glassware. Curtains installed wrong way around- solids are meant to be on the inside to ensure there is still privacy. No insect screen for the balcony door so flies and insects had a field day when I tried to air the place. Gouges on the walls in the living area and grotty marks on paintwork. The bed was particularly uncomfortable- two singles pushed together to make the king bed. Problem was that no covering strip was place over the join between the two, and no mattress overlay to cushion this. I would challenge management to sleep like this- unless they enjoy feeling like sleeping on top a piece of wooden doweling. No cover on the very obviously cheap quilt. Old and tired I understand, but being charged $250 per night for this sub standard offering is out of the question. The room was definitely NOT professionally cleaned. The only good point was the location, but that will not be enough to make us book a...
Read moreWe stayed at Quest Albury for a sleep-over during our Sydney to Melbourne road trip—and honestly, we wish we had more time there! The hotel is modern, sleek, and absolutely spotless. Everything felt fresh and new, with thoughtful, high-quality amenities throughout.
We booked the one-bedroom apartment, which was incredibly comfortable and well-equipped. The bed was cozy, and to our delight, the room was perfectly warm when we arrived—such a welcome relief after a long drive in freezing winter weather, especially since we got there super late.
The receptionist was incredibly kind and accommodating. Since we arrived after 9 PM (when reception closes), she made sure our room key was safely left in a secure box for easy access—such thoughtful service!
The location is excellent—just an 8-minute walk to Woolworths, which made grabbing some fresh fruits and snacks a breeze. The apartment had everything: a fridge, oven, microwave, full cooking utensils, plus a washing machine and dryer—perfect for families or road trippers wanting to freshen up.
There’s even a restaurant called 2640 conveniently located beneath the hotel, and everything in town felt close and easily accessible.
Highly recommend Quest Albury—clean, modern, warm, and so well thought out. It made a quick stopover feel like a...
Read moreFollowing my other post - the manager Bryan is outrightly disrespectful, rude and deceitful. Instead of contacting the consumer (oh wait, you can't because you did not bother to take any details from us at check in 😯) about their issues towards their business, we eventually rang before end of business day like we've stated we would do. Bryan believes that now it was a change of date fee, which again, is free on booking.com, and booking.com states if it is not on the booking.com advertisement then it is not legal and that we have the legal right to refuse, and even though his shady receptionist states it was transfer of name, and instead of working this out with us and instead fudging around with details, Bryan has blackmailed us that if we do not removed our reviews, he will unvoid the fee (which was apparently done at 1:20pm by Bryan personally himself he decided to brag, but again, how can they tell the consumer if they don't have their details) and charge our mother in law's account is who currently hospitalised.
Dear Bryan, I will not be removing my reviews, as they are completely true. I would like to see you try charge my mother in law at this point, as I am more then happy to take this further.
DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL! Shady shady shady. Stay at Atura, it is...
