Working with a very young staff, the service was on the slower side, but they were all trying very hard. Drinks were all enjoyable pretty good & a goof start. Chocolate milkshake delicious but slightly on the smaller side of a millshake traditionally; Hot chocolate that was a little bitter in the best way; & classic cappuccino perfect. Ordering brunch took a little longer than usual, but once ordered it arrived very quickly … Eggs Benedict was very tasty, it arrived on small hash browns instead of toast (could be bigger); Egg and bacon roll, with a hash brown on the side was good (but other dishes better); French toast was a hit, very sweet with a yummy banana custard & crème brûlée finish added some crunchy bits, "would order again"; Gac on toast, and added an egg and bacon, where the salsa made for a fresh breakfast and the crispy bacon added a nice crunch; & finally the baked eggs had the right mix of sweetness from the tomatoes and savoury from the eggs, finished with fennel and chili sausage and the focaccia. 5 thumbs up from us.

Me and the wife were in Albury on Saturday 9th august 2025 and we were looking for a place to eat and decided to stop here for a bite, Atmosphere was warm and inviting and the staff made us feel welcome. Ordered the burger and It came with chips and it was better than we expected it to be for a small Cafe it was good and more like something you'd expect from a top restaurant. Had the orange cake for desert and it didn't disappoint either (gluten free) We had a latte with it and it was creamy and not to strong or overwhelming. The only thing we found was it was a little to pricey for our budget We spent $113 all up That was 2 burgers 2 serves of cake and 4 latte. Overall 8/10 would have given them 10/10 but for the prices We walked away pretty much satisfied Regards to the chef and staff

The dining experience was lovely. Beautiful food and atmosphere. If I could give any constructive criticism it would be that the menu choice is quite small and just a little disappointed, I ordered a cheese board to share for dessert. After ordering it took 15-20 mins for the waitress only to come and say that they ran out of crackers so we obviously didn't get it. The service was a little slow considering the restaurant wasn't overly busy. Other than that, looking forward to coming again next time for breakfast or lunch. *The website could also be improved. Needs updated with menu and dessert selection

Very disappointed. Picked this restaurant as it was close to the Entertainment Centre & we were going to a show. The show started at 7:30pm. We arrived (party of 3) at 5:45pm. Plenty of time, or so we thought! The waitress that greeted us & showed us to our table was nice. But she disappeared & obviously handed us over to another waitress. There was only 1 other group in the restaurant (a table of 6). We waited & waited for service. In the meantime, 2 other groups came in. Despite trying to flag the waitress down, she took the orders from a table that arrived after us. When she did finally come to our table (6:10pm), we specifically said that we were going to a show & needed to leave by 7pm. We placed our orders. We ordered our mains & desserts at the same time, and asked if dessert could come out when we were just about finished our mains (or as soon as we were finished). She came back to check that the person who ordered a well done steak knew it took half an hour to cook? It seemed we had time for that. Unfortunately the $20 cocktail I ordered wasn't something I could drink (BlackBerry Fizz). There was way too much mint in it. I only took 2 sips. I was just sucking up mint leaves & bits of bitter berry. So I just stuck to water. My sister didn't drink hers either. Our meals arrived at 7pm!! So the 1/2 hour steak took 50mins. It was cooked medium, not well done, so who knows why it took so long?!! I ordered the pork belly. The pork itself was nicely cooked & still moist, but there was no sauce. It was served on a bed of dry barley. There was something yellow that was obviously meant for flavoring, but it was awful (? turmeric, saffron or cumin). But I couldn't eat anything other than the bits of pork I could scrape the yellow stuff off. The chef was obviously pleased with the meals though, as she stood there taking photos of them, despite the fact we were now in a hurry! Again, we tried to flag down the waitress after we'd finished our mains. It was now 7:10pm. Yes....we had 10 mins to eat our mains, although we'd got there at 5:45pm! The waitress said "I'll go & tell them you're ready for dessert now" and we were like "What does she mean?!? They were supposed to have come out already! We ordered them at the same time as the mains!!" It's now 7:15pm.....we flag her down again to get an ETA on dessert?? We're told "they're doing it now". I asked for the bill, so I could pay and we could quickly scoff dessert down & run. Funnily enough, that came very quickly! At 7:20pm, with only 10mins until our show was starting, we had to pull the pin. We got up & went to the register. We said we were going to have to cancel dessert. The girl at the register went into the kitchen, came back & said "they're ready now". It was 7:25pm. I said "We don't have time to eat it!!!" and we heard a groan from the chef!! So, we raced to our show, didn't have any time to buy a decent drink or a chocolate bar because we were hungry!! Got there just in time for the start. We then went to McDonald's on the way home. Would not be in a hurry to go back there again, or...

While this place may look inviting and lovely, there is much to be said about the lack of service in terms of delivering food orders out to customers and being respectful of time and notifying customers on the duration of delays. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. I was seated with a group of friends and we made our orders. About 30 to 40 minutes of waiting, we stopped a waitress first to ask about how long the food was going to take and she went to go clarify. Then a gentleman (presumably, the owner) came over to tell us that “It might be a 15 minute wait…but don’t quote me.” We agreed that it would be okay given that the food would be delivered by that time. As time flew past, other tables that arrived after us were receiving their meals. The only solution given to us was while we waited, was to order another round of drinks. At 2:30pm, basically 1 hour and 10 minutes of waiting for our food, our meals finally got delivered to us. Mind you, that one order was incorrect as they did not make the right meal as initially ordered. So one person still had to wait even longer. Not only was the food subpar to other restaurants, the service was dismal. After consuming our meals, we went to go finalize payment. I felt quite annoyed of this dining experience, and decided to give them some constructive feedback/criticism. All I commented on was if it was normal for such lengthy periods of waiting without being notified of such delays. The owner then responded quite rudely remarking that “as I told you before, there was going to be a wait.” To which I replied and said: “Well, 30 minutes is reasonable but over an hour is not.” He said: “It was out of our hands.” Which this comment was absurd. So, we then suggested to remove the second round of drinks (which was only one drink), to make up for the wait. However, this was met with challenge by the man, after some back and forth he decided to “meet us halfway” and remove the one drink from the bill. I personally would not recommend this place which is a shame because it’s such a lovely spot for a...

I took my visiting family here for breakfast. The services started great, we ordered coffee ten minutes later we ordered food but had not received our coffee, 20-25 minutes passed the waitress that took our order walked past us atleast 8 time but did not acknowledge us once we had to go to counter and ask for our coffee and why it was taking so long. 5-10 minutes later our coffee finally arrived. The coffee was nice we enjoyed that. We then waited and waited for our food, empty coffee cups sat at our table for ages, the waitress did not acknowledge us at all but yet walked straight past us a number of times empty handed. Got to the point we had been waiting over 1 hour for our meals so I go back to counter and ask how much longer? Only to find out the kitchen had not even received my order the lady working behind the counter apologised, Questioned the waitress by asking why are we just finding out about this now? Her ecsuse was she was busy trying to fix up other orders that had went wrong my first thought was why are these customers more important than us? We were offered a refund but I said please can we just have the food we ordered and can you please tell me how much longer it will be. When our food finally arrived we had been waiting for the better part of 1 an half hour and we were starving, just appalling service. This is a moden cafe/restaurant clean and tidy, great location, beautiful scenery over looking the park, decent food and coffee. Canvas eatery has a lot of potential but something is going terribly wrong there. Canvas eatery get your...
