Gstättentor — Attraction in Salzburg

The Gstattentor is one of the many ancient gates that can be found in Salzburg. One of the oldest, it can be found just next to the Blasiuskirche Church.

This gate was parts of Salzburg′s oldest city walls from the 13th century, then extended and further fortified under Prince Archbishop Markus Sittikus in the 17th century. The coat of arms of Sittikus can still be seen on both sides of the gate.
