Stunning externally and internally. Ornate lavish baroque architecture, marble statues and columns, elaborate frescoes adorn the ceilings and walls, bookcases that reveal glimpses of rooms behind, and intriguing staircases leading to the unknown.

It's both fascinating and breathtaking just looking at the detail and the vast collection of historical literature on display.

In a building where it appears time has stood still, I love the juxtaposition with the very interesting exhibition looking at Austria's history from 1925 to the current day. A century in pictures'.

The State Hall is normally closed on a Monday. However, opening hours change from June, and I was fortunate to stop by on the 1st Monday in June.

Definitely worth a visit and the...

Experience from 26 october/ open door event/ free entrance. Long line to get in. I asked how much time the line is. 15 minutes was the answer. Now I have been waiting 40 minutes and still not in. One of the reason being that the staff lets people cut the line. The other is that "guided tour" has a priority to enter... so even if the people came after you, they get to skip the line as part of "guided tour". Had I known that, I would have joined the guided tour too, which would had saved at least 20 minutes of waiting. I estimate that "15 minute" wait will end up...

The most beautiful library that I can walk in(Other you can only see from afar). It should take you less than an hour to get through all but a lot of people there. I don't think there are limits on the number of people but I am not sure. I got the tickets in front. It is quiet in the center of all main attractions. If you have free time I would recommend visiting and on Thursday it opens at night too.

This is a quite impressive library! Not sure if taking 10€ as an entry fee is a justified price tag, but you at least get to see a very impressive building from The insight with like 200,000 books from the past. They will of course not let you touch any. But seeing them is impressive enough.
