While I would echo the price comments of everyone else, I'll focus this review on the quality. First off my steak was supposed to be dry aged. The bone was clearly not intact with the rest of the steak (or from a different steak entirely) when cooked. The steak did not taste dry aged, but the meat on the bone did. I am very familiar with dry aged steaks and feel a bit bamboozled. The actual steak wasn't bad. I would rate it a 6/10, which fell short of our expectations. When we saw the prices, we thought we would get something similar to Ruth Chris or a Vegas resort steak house experience. We were wrong.
The shrimp cocktail was the worst I've had. The shrimp were not bad, they seemed like the same as what were available on the Regatta Buffet, which were decent for a buffet. The cocktail sauce was terrible. It was impossible to get out of the container w/o effort. The container was small, the sauce was near frozen and we didn't have a spoon of any sort. Eventually I just dumped it on my plate, cut my shrimp up and shoveled the sauce on the shrimp and ate. It was uninspiring, like something you bought at a grocery store and was the cheapest that they had.
The next worst thing was the Asparagus. It was like they went to the fridge of the buffet and found some that had been sitting around for a few days, nuked it for 30 secs and served it. I love asparagus and will eat it prepared most anyway... this was terrible.
Continuing on to the next bad experience was the truffle mac n cheese. I saw some pics of this and was pretty excited about it. What we received tasted like they juiced a few hundred dollars of truffles, added some dirt to it, and injected it into the mac n cheese. No one at our table finished theirs. I've had truffles before and they are delightful. This was like I pissed someone off before they went and made our food or something.
The whipped potatoes were instant. Not even buffet quality.... instant potatoes. Terrible.
What was good you may be wondering if you made it this far? The walk in was good. They did a good job creating an ambiance with meat hanging, caviar displays, etc. The bread was good. The pancetta and parmesan millefoglie was excellent. I wish we stopped there.
I know a lot of the reviews are people that are upset about the price, which was outrageous. We just expected the food to be of high quality. Whomever runs Carna should be fired. This is a world class resort and almost everything we experienced that wasn't food related, was ideal. Carna was the most expensive and the worst part...

Before proceeding, I want to provide a little context. Iâve eaten at hundreds of fine dining restaurants in my life â many good, some bad. This is the FIRST time Iâve ever been compelled to spend time warning others.
After great anticipation, my family and I dined last night at Carna Steakhouse at the SLS in Baha Mar. As we checked in, we were grateful for the hostess to inquire about food allergies. Our answer was in the affirmative, as our adult daughter is allergic to gluten and allium (garlic and onion). Therefore, sheâs always needed to be careful.
Since the waiter re-inquired, I felt secure my daughterâs meal would be free of concern. She ordered a salad with no dressing (olive oil on the side) since the waiter made clear the listed dressing had garlic and onion. Also ordered was a filet and plain french fries with no seasoning as that, too, had garlic powder.
As we were presented our salads, my daughter noticed the dampness on the lettuce. We called the floor manager over to express our concern. As she had a salad remade and brought back, I once again voice our alarm. Her reaction was as if they had messed up serving arugula instead of romaine. The restaurantâs disinterest was confirmed a few minutes later when seasoned french fries were delivered to the table.
While the staffâs indifference stands out since it involved the health of my daughter, I donât want the rest of the dining experience to be overlooked. While dealing with the allergy issues, we returned an undercooked shrimp cocktail, and two filets. The filets were ordered medium rare. However, they accidentally confused charcoal briquettes for the steak as the two cuts of steak delivered had no signs of red or pink anywhere.
As my family mused over the very disappointing experience, my family debated what management would do to mitigate the obvious shortcomings. Would they comp the check? The salad? The returned undercooked shrimp? Would they offer a complimentary dessert? My answer to them was that I would ask for nothing. I would never want a bad experience feedback to be confused for positioning for something free. However, as a business owner, I was curious on how this establishment would try to mitigate the damaged goodwill. To certainly not my surprise, the answer was nothing. Not only nothing, but they charged us for the shrimp that was returned! After requesting that one item to be removed, we paid the bill, left, and pondered whether âCarnaâ is short for âCarnageâ. Lots of damage to my wallet. Fortunately, my...
Read moreCarna, located in the heart of the luxurious casino area at Baha Mar in the Bahamas, is a dining experience that leaves a lasting impression. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance sets the tone for an elegant and elevated meal. The restaurant combines sophistication with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it feel like a truly special place to dine.
The menu is nothing short of extraordinary, especially for steak enthusiasts. The Specialty Reserve Wagyu selection is a standout, offering cuts like the Australian Ribeye and the Japanese Snow-aged Wagyu. Each dish is meticulously prepared and highlights the chef's attention to quality and flavor. The sides and accompaniments are equally impressive. The truffle mac 'n cheese and the fries are indulgent and perfectly executed, while additions like the black truffle butter and half lobster tail add a touch of opulence to the meal.
Even the bread service is a delight. Beautifully presented with a selection of flavored butters and pickled vegetables, itâs the kind of thoughtful detail that elevates the entire experience. Every element of the meal feels carefully considered, ensuring each bite is memorable.
Looking back, itâs clear that Carna is the type of restaurant that could have been the perfect way to close out a trip on a high note. Its combination of exceptional food, impeccable service, and a luxurious setting makes it an ideal spot for a special occasion or simply a night to remember. If I were to return, I wouldnât hesitate to make this my final meal to cap off the trip in the best...
