The museum delivers a respectful and enlightening experience with thoughtful exhibits and artifacts, offering a deeper understanding of Bosnia and Herzegovina's multicultural tapestry. During my November visit, I had the entire museum to myself, spending just over 2 hours exploring its compact yet impactful space.

While the potential for becoming one of the most interesting Jewish museums in Europe is evident, there's room for improvement. A lot of the information on the labels/plaques was poorly written and occasionally a bit confusing. The stories of the Righteous Among Nations were hard to read, which was a shame. That could easily be an...

Amazing and poignant! A beautiful structure still being used occasionally by the Jewish community of Sarajevo, Bosnia Filled with real artifacts and photos cataloguing the history of Sephardic Jews in Sarajevo, before WWII. Run by Jews, but made as a sober but loving gift to everyone, this restored synagogue & museum give justice to the triumph of the Chosen people under the Nazis and the efforts of non-Jewish Bosnians to resist the systematic antisemitic propoganda, risking their lives to save their...

This beautiful building dates back 500 years and survived the wars with relatively little damage. Now only used religiously on special Jewish occasions it is converted to a museum over 3 floors displaying various artifacts of Jewish culture and their time in Bosnia & Hertzogovina. A large book hangs from the ceiling detailing the names of 12000 Jews killed here in WW2. The displayed circumcision knife made my eyes water. Very cheap to...

A beautiful grand building that exhibits the tolerance of the Ottomans and the Muslims of Sarajevo. I love how the whole area is preserved in its old condition. You feel you are back in time. It was midday on weekday but it was closed. It is uplifting to see a Jewish quarter alongside monuments of other cultures in the city. After all, we are all one people!
