[Revisited in May 2023] A wonderful fine dining French & Khmer restaurant located within the Palace Gate Hotel & Resort. Was visited by the then Crowd Price of Cambodia (now King of Cambodia) and the Queen Mother! Hence this restaurant is literally "fit for Royals"! I visited them for dinner twice during my recent visit to Phnom Penh, and was served by Mr Raksmey on both visits. First, about Mr Raksmey : He speaks good English (a graduate from the Royal University of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh), and is absolutely professional, which I could observed from how he takes orders, setting table, serving and retrieving dishes, as well as opening and servicing a bottle of wine . He was also very polite, attentive and friendly, always wearing a smile on his face, and had thus contributed tremendously to my excellent dining experience. About the food and wine : The restaurant serves a sizable French and Khmer menus, every dish is oh so meticulously prepared and delicious. Too bad I could not try them all! Wine list is sizable and adequate, with wines from both Old and New Worlds that you will sure find something you like. About the ambient : Beautifully decorated with a class. Do take some time to look at the many black and white photographs hanging on the walls, as they are as good as a museum collection telling a story about the past of Phnom Penh and Cambodia.
[1st Visit dated May 2022] Definitively the best of the best Khmer fine dining in Phnom Penh! Visited by her Majesty Queen Mother of Cambodia and His Majesty King of Cambodia in 2017! Located inside the Palace Gate Hotel, the ambient is exquisite (just look at my photos), the food is absolutely delicious, and the service is impeccable. I can't ask for more! Price is also extremely reasonable! Definitely exceedingly value for money! I would certainly visit again when I next visit...
Read moreI was craving for a steak, I haven’t had one for over a month since being in Vietnam, I always get a little weary eating steak abroad. I was searching on google maps and came across this establishment, took a walk there but could not find it. I asked a gent outside, he told me that it was inside of the hotel. I proceeded in, I could tell this is high class as soon as u walk into the hotel. In the corridor There is a gentleman sitting there playing a xylophone. As I reached the restaurant and walked threw the doors u can tell this is fine dining. As I sat down the waitress put a napkin in my lap and gave me 3 menus to choose from and if I would like sparkling or flat water. They have a long list of alcohol and food, to start I order a corona and a sambuca. For the food I ordered the bbq ribs and the ribeye steak. The ribs were awesome, meaty, fall of the bone and they had a sweet, spicy taste to them. The steak with the peppercorn sauce FANTASTIC!! It comes with mushrooms and I usually don’t eat them, they always have like an earthy taste but I will always try first. These were the best ones I every had, so so good. It also comes with bacon asparagus and a huge thing of garlic. The meal was outstanding, so good I made a reservation for the next day with the Hing vichet who is the manager. The service was impeccable, my waitress Mai had a great smile threw out the service, was intentive , and talkative. Asking how long I would be in Cambodia, what other countries I’ll be going, started talking about Singapore, she said it was a beautiful country as well. Overall an...

Been to this restaurant more than 5 times. Ambience is good. Atmosphere is good. Cozy. Lush garden. Fresh food. Good food.
It serves French and Khmer Cuisine. Appearance and plating is good, easily triggering your appetite for meal.
I love the lush garden surrounding the swimming pool where tables are arranged neatly under the transparent roof with fans hovering above you.
Once upon a time the Royal Family had their meal here.
If not for a reason, I will ne lazily staying put and hanging out at this poolside table from lunch time till midnight.
Let's take a look at how much money I spent during my latest lunch here for two with my wife:
Chicken cashew $9.0 Fish Amok $8.0 Fresh Coconut $3.0 x 2 pieces Pomelo Salad $8.0 Prawn Fried Rice $9.5 Steam Rice $1.0 Total: $41.5 ($47.96, including 10% tax).
