VN ORGANIC SPA & NAILS ( VERNON) — Attraction in Vernon

Clean, relaxing, and super professional! Got a shellac mani pedi here a week ago and they still look great! I overheard two other customers complain of nails not lasting. One person walked in complaining about chipping a couple days after and they were quick to offer to fix it in their after hours the day after.

I found the salon, their tools, tables/chairs super clean and new feeling. Their practices were also very professional and clean. Amazing gel colour options! Unsure about quality of polish as I’ve never heard of it, but so far so good.

Booking and timing experience: I booked online and the next day they called me to refine the time by 30 min to fit their schedule better. This was better availability than I could find anywhere else in Vernon with such short notice. Only reason it isn’t 5 stars: They only had two people working though and still need to work out their timing. Upon arrival (on time) I waited for another 20 minutes before they could take me. No apology or explanation or heads up that I may have to wait. Also wasn’t aware it would not be a simultaneous pedicure mani as they were short staffed, so my entire appointment was quite long. When leaving the next appointment after me was 30 min beyond schedule. She didn’t receive a heads up that they were running...

So much went wrong. I made an appt for a color change and one repair. I came to my appt early, waited 10 min for a tech, and had to ask to get service. The tech who removed my gel did not use proper procedure and damaged some of my nails, chipping the side out of the one shown in the video. When she was done removing the gel, she left her work station and didn't come back. I waited for 5 min or so before bringing this to the attention of the tech to my left. She took over my service. The nail shown is sticky under the part that peels back. The top is uneven, and the side chipped out. In the end, the 45 min appt turned into 75 min. This would have been fine if I had brought my own vehicle. It was not so good since I had a friend waiting for me. To summarize...I strongly suggest you train your technicians to pay attention to detail and learn proper procedures. I feel much of the above could have been avoided had there been someone who spoke English to assist with communication. I usually love coming to this spa to get my nails done, it’s my monthly treat to myself. However, this time was unfortunately not a very great experience. I booked in for a classic mani with gel polish and a removal of my previous colour. Every time I’ve come this service has been an hour long minimum, this time my manicure was finished really early. My appointment started at 3pm and I was back in my car by 3:43pm. I don’t know the name of the technician that did my nails this time, as I usually book with Candi, but the online system has changed and you can’t book with specific people anymore. This girl I had was filing my nails so aggressively and quickly I thought they were going to break. When it came time for the colour application she was painting them very quickly and did not ask if i liked the colour before painting all of my nails. When the top coat was put on my right thumb it has a weird looking bulge of product that wasn’t smoothed out and I didn’t notice until I got home. She did do a great hand massage though so that was really nice. I will continue to come and hope that this was just a one...
