Headquarters have been rejuvenated and re-integrated into the urban fabric of the surrounding area. The 130 year-old historical development has been revitalized and transformed into a cultural and shopping landmark in Hong Kong – “1881 Heritage”. Following extensive renovation and conservation works by CK Asset Holdings Limited, “1881 Heritage” now features luxury shops, fine dining establishments and hip bars, a heritage hotel, and a Heritage Hall which allows visitors to discover the history of the site. With the prime location on Canton Road, “1881 Heritage” is at the centre of the Tsim Sha Tsui cultural and shopping hub. It is only steps away from Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Hong Kong Space Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Art, and Kowloon Park. “1881 Heritage” can be conveniently reached by various modes of public transport, including by MTR, ferry and bus.

I recently visited the 1881 Heritage mall and was blown away by its unique blend of history and modernity. This upscale shopping mall is housed in the former Marine Police Headquarters, a stunning example of colonial architecture that dates back to 1881. The mall is well-preserved and has been tastefully refurbished, with many of the original features still intact. As you wander around the mall, you'll come across historical exhibits that showcase the building's rich past. One of the highlights for me was the gallery of old photographs, which provided a fascinating glimpse into Hong Kong's colonial past. In terms of shopping, the mall offers a good mix of high-end luxury brands and more affordable options. There are also several excellent dining options, including a rooftop restaurant with stunning views of the city skyline.

If you are in the Kowloon area, this mall might be a fun place to wander around if you appreciate luxury shops coupled with beautiful historic architecture. It is walking distance from The Peninsula hotel, K11 Musea Mall, & the Rosewood Hotel. The shops here are primarily jewelry & watch stores, not many clothing store options. In terms of shopping, there are better malls with more variety of store options. This mall is great if you like to soak in the unique architecture & appreciate an outdoor mall setting. If high-end jewelry shopping isn't your think & want to kill some extra time at 1881, there is a restaurant & bar with a very quaint setting located at the top of the mall. They have a great patio with views out into the city.

1881 Heritage is an outdoor, cultural and shopping landmark in Tsim Sha Tsui that offers visitors a unique experience of looking into Hong Kong's history while being able to enjoy some luxury brand shopping. This is the former HK Marine Police HQ which was refurbished into a shopping arcade venue around 10 years ago. The building grounds are nice, the shops high-end. One of the heritage features of 1881 Heritage that I enjoy is the Time Ball Tower, a Declared Monument in Hong Kong. I also like visiting 1881 Heritage for the Christmas holiday periods. They usually have some of the most creative Xmas displays around the city on full display to all those who pass by on Salisbury Rd.

At first I thought it was only a shopping mall with extravagant Christmas decoration. Then I decided to take a walk and I realized that this building is a historical building turned into shopping mall. There is a clock tower that you can go inside and see the harbor from the height. The architecture and the garden of this place also attracts couples to create wedding photos. In the other side you can also see cannons outside some very nice cafes. As for the shops, I saw high-end jewelry and watch stores, so unless you have lots of extra fund to spend, this is no place for you to shop.

Heritage 1881 This spot surely is a good tourist attraction and spells the history of HK. Good and well maintained architectures and restaurants. This place had been the Marine Police Headquarters since 1880. In 1884 , it had a very important function of proclaiming Time Notice and Typhoon Notice with augmentation of Gun firing for sailors and ships at sea. They were done through the Time Ball tower and the signals of triangle , block square hoisted on the top of the Mast. Written on June 15, 2024
