HYDRONETTA Cocktail - Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Hydra

Really disappointed with our visit to Hydronetta Cocktail Bar. The setting is undeniably beautiful, but the service was some of the worst we’ve experienced.

My parents ordered an Aperol and a beer and waited over 30 minutes with no drinks. We asked multiple waiters, and none could give us a straight answer — most seemed uninterested, dismissive, and completely unbothered. The attitude from the staff was careless and unprofessional, like they simply couldn’t be bothered.

We added two more Aperols to the order — those came out quickly, but still no sign of the originals. My dad had to go into the bar himself to finally get them made. When he asked for a mastika, they brought him a mojito. The drinks we got were extremely watered down and lacked flavor.

Earlier in the day, a glass of wine was spilled on my dad, and again, the staff barely acknowledged it.

Hydronetta looks the part, but the lack of basic service, poor communication, and rude, indifferent staff made it a frustrating and disappointing experience from...

We came here per recommendation of the owner of the accommodation where we are staying at. We were very much looking forward to some bites and drinks while watching the sunset. We were seated promptly by the hostess, however, soon after the waitress arrived and asked us whether we will have some food. We replied that we’d like to have some bites. She then said that they don’t have bites as they are a fish restaurant. We asked if they have some salad, calamari’s etc, she said ‘no’ very rudely and replied that unless we will have fresh fish we can’t stay. We were totally confused and told the manager; he was rather nice and said that we can have a seat and have anything we want and that the waitress was just being unprofessional. We didn’t stay as we felt unwelcome and were just stunned by such a treatment. At the end of the day, it’s also how you train the staff, and this place clearly doesn’t have all the things in the right place, though the ambient looked very nice....

I rarely write bad reviews however I take the time to do so since the reviews here about the waiters are completely truthful.

Having been to the island more than 10times ( when Hydra was not such a hype), Hydroneta is one of the places someone would go to swim or have a coffee/drink. This time, we wanted to have some shade ‘cause the sun was unbearable. We were searching for an available table and there was only one. We approached the waiter to ask him if there would be some shade later in case we would sit on that table. He ironically replied to us ‘I work here. Do you think I have time to look where the shade is? If felt like he made us a favor replying to us, as if we would not pay for our drinks. You can’t be that rude to someone who is going to support the business you work for. Maybe they are not satisfied with the working conditions there , but this is not a fault of the customers.
