The bartenders greeted me with smiles and a menu that could only be described as a love letter to tequila. I settled on a "Windmill Margarita," which was basically the drink equivalent of a warm hug. One of the landmarks which characterises Greek Islands are the windmills and Hydra is not out of that concept by the fact that at just few metres from the port, you will find some windmills facing to the sea which where built in the 18th century. This windmills were used to grind up the wheat in ancient times and nowadays are just landmarks representing its importance for the town, in this case a cosy bar with amazing sea views.

Curiously, this mill in particular, is a very famous spot because it appears in a movie from 1957 named “The Boy on a Dolphin” and just in front of the mill, there is a sculpture representing this movie, a boy...

Stunning. Make sure you book in advance if poss for the best seats. I was lucky and managed to grab the last unreserved table for myself as I had arrived just before opening however, they have unreserved spots at the back on the wall or the benches at the top of the hill. The most accommodating and welcoming staff. The owner and hostess with the mostest Elaine was so attentive to each and every customer.
