STAY AWAY FROM HERE! PEOPLE UNWORTHY OF YOUR MONEY!
The worst place where to see the sunset in Oia. Very expensive, a terrace nothing special, the same as many others in the surroundings, and the sunset is the sunset, not surely an exclusive of this bar. Moreover the manager is the impolitest person I’ve met in the whole Santorini. We were 15 people, but he told us we weren’t welcomed (too many and too noisy, he supposed), although there were enough free sits. Only 7-8 would have been accommodated, on the only condition they haven’t chatted and they haven’t ordinated a coffee (beware a coffee costs 8.oo euros!) but only cocktails and similars. So: we aren’t welcomed, we have to stay silent, and we have to order what you want! Shame on you guy, you still have a lot to learn concerning your work!
Read moreThis is the place to go to for the perfect sunset view, as you can watch the sun disappear in front of you without having to fight for a good spot in the crowd. You'll need to book a table, as it's very busy at sunset time, and they normally ask for a minimum 25 euros spend- which you easily spend anyway, as cocktails are 16/18 euros each. They have some food options too - I saw some cheese platters going around. Totally worth it if you want to treat yourself to the perfect Oia sunset, with a nice cocktail and literally one of the most beautiful views in the world. You can also walk few steps from your table and get the perfect windmill sunset pictures, which look like the Greek postcards you find in the shops. Challenging to get there in the crowd, as the narrow streets get very busy, and google maps doesn't really manage to guide you through the turns and steps down you have to take to reach it. Look at the windmill once you're near the location, as it's right there. It's very warm, as the bar is completely exposed to the sun setting, so wear...
Read moreThis place has, no doubt, amazing views. Unfortunately, it sucks.
The principal reason is the price. In essence, it is excessive and well out of proportion with what you receive. In our situation, we paid 58 euros for two relatively basic glasses of wine and a cheese board. The cheese board is 38 euros and is small. It is also the only food on the menu.
Of course, one might argue that you pay for the views. However, someone could experience the views without paying the exorbitant amount by, quite literally, sitting down above the restaurant. That is, in any event, the views are free. The restaurant is anything but.
Of course, any restaurant in Santorini in Oia will cost you the same for the same (probably poor) quality. It’s probably on par with similar restaurants in Oia. However, that is no defence to the quality; if that’s the case, then all the restaurants objectively poor and are not deserving of your money.
It should be noted that the atmosphere and location is still pleasant. This is not enough to convert this into a better...
