I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a sunset dinner at Elinikon Oia, and it was an absolutely remarkable experience that left me in awe. From start to finish, the evening was filled with delightful surprises, and I cannot wait to share my positive review of this wonderful establishment.
First and foremost, the location of Elinikon Oia is simply stunning. Situated on the cliffside of Oia, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and the renowned Santorini sunset. As the sun started to descend, painting the sky in vibrant shades of orange and pink, I couldn't help but feel a sense of tranquility and wonder.
The service at Elinikon Oia was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The waitstaff were attentive, knowledgeable, and quick to accommodate any request. Their friendly demeanor created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, making me feel right at home.
Moving on to the food, the culinary offerings at Elinikon Oia were truly outstanding. Although I opted for beer instead of wine, the menu presented a wide variety of delectable dishes that captured the essence of Greek cuisine. Each course was prepared with great care and attention to detail, showcasing the chef's skill and creativity. From the appetizers to the main course and dessert, every bite was bursting with flavor and left me wanting more.
To complement the meal, Elinikon Oia also offered complimentary shots, adding a touch of excitement and celebration to the evening. These shots were expertly crafted and served with flair, further enhancing the overall experience. The staff was knowledgeable about the different types of shots available and gladly made recommendations based on personal preferences.
The ambiance of Elinikon Oia added to the enchantment of the evening. The tasteful decor, combined with soft lighting and the natural beauty of the surroundings, created a cozy and romantic atmosphere. It was the perfect setting to unwind, enjoy good food and drinks, and witness the breathtaking sunset unfold before my eyes.
In conclusion, my sunset dinner at Elinikon Oia was an experience I will treasure for years to come. The combination of exceptional service, mouthwatering cuisine, and the captivating setting made it a truly unforgettable evening. Read moreWe booked several days ahead a table of 2 persons for the sunset at this restaurant and we specifically asked for a front-row view of the sunset. We arrived at the restaurant a couple of minutes before our reservation and we were taken to our table which was in a position from where you couldn't see the sunset or the sea at all. The rest of the terrace was almost empty by the time we arrived. We asked one of the waiters if it were possible to change the table for an available one with front row sea view and we were told that it's not possible because those tables are for 4-persons reservations. 5 minutes later, two other separate couples entered the restaurant and were lead to the front row tables. When we asked the waiter again if it would still be possible to change the table, since other couples were seated at 4-persons tables, he replied that it's not possible and we should have asked earlier (we did but we were rejected nonetheless). At that point, when we saw how rudely we were treated, we decided to leave and look for another place.
I can't make any comments regarding the food since we didn't get the chance to taste it, but the entire experience was very disappointing and it ruined our entire evening. It is a shame especially since it was our only night in Oia. I hardly recommend you to avoid this place and go look for other restaurants where they treat their customers with...
Read moreService is terrible here. We requested to go up their terrace with the sunset view. Once we are up were greeted by 2 servers. Tall old man and a young lady. After they sat us down on the table we realised our sunset view were blocked by the windmill so we request if it is possible to change table (there were 3 empty tables with a better view) but the man replied us 'Well, this is your table.' and just walk off without giving us any reason. After the end of the dinner the young lady came to clean the table and ask us to pass her the plates even though there were just the two of us and there was lots of space for her to pick it up.
The whole ordeal was so ridiculous that the only saving grace of this place is their Seabass. The fish skin is crispy and the meat is soft and flavourful.
Grilled Octopus not so much. The texture of the octopus is rubbery and the sauce is a bit sweet.
Overall will not come back again, Oia have lots of places with friendly people...
