My experience with Portum Lines was a complete disappointment. I booked an evening cruise for June 21, 2024, with high expectations of seeing the beautiful illuminated sights of Budapest. What we got instead was a disorganized and delayed service. We arrived at Dock 42 at 21:15, well in advance of the scheduled departure time of 22:00, only to stand in line until 22:55. The boat finally left at 23:00, an hour late, by which time Budapest's iconic landmarks were no longer illuminated. The staff had warned us about this, but what choice did we have after waiting so long? Adding insult to injury, we learned from other disgruntled passengers that their earlier boat had broken down, causing them to miss all 9 planned stops. This breakdown was the reason for our delay. The lack of communication and the unprofessional handling of the situation was unacceptable. Despite following all instructions in our confirmation voucher and arranging the pick-up as required, we were left with two unsatisfactory options: either take the subpar cruise or request a refund. We chose the latter, as the experience didn't match what we paid for. The staff assured us of a refund, but the company still didn't give my money back. Portum Lines clearly lacks the reliability and professionalism one would expect from a tour provider. Save yourself the frustration and choose another company that values its customers and...

Beautiful boat trip on Danube. Very cheap and cozy. Cheap drinks. We were oferred proseco at the entrance. You could take some nice shots from there.

My only minus and shame on authorities of Budapest.. the taxi is a big scam!!! We took a taxi from the harbor after we finished the boat trip ,strangely they were there after we finished the ride and before we started the boat trip.. I don't know but I don't believe in coincidences...anyway... so we took the classic taxi and took us from there to saint Stephen cathedral. This taxi driver was so shady, reckless in driving skills and he didn t start the clock... and he charged us like for 3 km 20 euros!!!! And if I were to take Bolt Taxi they were charging me like 7-8 euros.....I was so angry and I knew it was my fault that there was so many red signals...but when you go in an european capital you should not be expecting this kind of cheap thief... I was angry but I knew that if I were to fight with this guy probably could ruin my holiday... so I gave up. That s the life...

So!! Very important ! Don't take classic taxi ... very high risk of getting scammed by them...better use apps for taxi when you pay...

This was a complete waste of my money and horrible customer service. I booked through Viator and had a 7:30 time slot. Nothing on the ticket said to be there at any certain time. Normally, we would have been a bit earlier than we were. Anyway, we are standing at the dock at 7:29 and they have locked the gate and the boat pulls away. People see us, but no one acknowledges we are there. They had enough time to let us on. We decided to try for the next boat at 8:30. We wait in line to board and I nicely explain to the attendant what happened. His response was that there are no refunds or exchanges for no shows and I should have known to be there earlier. He then says that he will let me on if I give him 5 euros cash per person. First, I didn't have it and it was the principal that I had already paid. I said that to him, but I got no response so we left. I will contact Viator as well. Still makes me mad thinking about it. It also doesn't let me leave no stars as a...

For the price paid this was outstanding. We paid for the cheapest option and weren't exactly expecting much but what we got was great. The dock is a little out the way but it I'd very easy to find and if you plan your day out correctly you can make sure you're not too far. It is on the side with the parliament building, opposite Margaret Island. We got a complimentary drink upon boarding which was great, offered blankets to keep us warm and the ship was clean and tidy with tables tables laid out nicely. There is also a toilet onboard. If you take a nice evening time when it is dark the views are amazing. The boat takes you just far down enough so you see all the main view points, then you turn around and head back. So you get it see both sides, so dont worry about getting up and moving to the other side of the boat to take pics.

An evening Danube River cruise is a "must do" activity when you are in Budapest. When I researched the different tour companies, I decided to go with one that has 4.5 or more stars in its review. Here are some tips to make for the best experience: book a time when it is dark (an hour or more after sunset) for great sightseeing and picture taking; skip a dinner cruise (the cruises are brief = one or 1.5 hours) as eating will be a distraction; sit outside and dress for the temperature (inside seating hinders good photography); sit next to a railing (front, front left or front right) for best picture taking). The side does not matter as the river boat follows an oval route. Be ready for a surprise when the boat passes by the Parliament building. Are those drones? Are those birds? They are birds lit up by the Parliament's spot lights.

I recently took a one-hour boat trip on the Danube River in Budapest, and it was one of the highlights of my trip! The boat was clean and comfortable, and the crew was friendly and informative. We got to see all of the major sights along the river, including the Hungarian Parliament Building, the Chain Bridge, and Buda Castle. The views from the boat were absolutely stunning. I especially loved seeing the city skyline at sunset. We were able to enjoy a welcome drink while we cruised. Overall, I highly recommend taking a one-hour boat trip on the Danube River if you're visiting Budapest. It's a great way to see the city from a different perspective and to learn more about its history and culture.
