1 star for the very nice and cozy atmosphere. The furniture and decor makes you feel like you're in your grandmother's home for afternoon tea. Service was absolutely atrocious. I ordered a hot chocolate without whipped cream and got more than half a cup of whipped cream. I asked if they could make my order again without the whipped cream, and the server told me it was impossible. I told them that they had gotten my order wrong and I didn't want whipped cream. I then asked if they had a spoon with which I could take out the whipped cream myself if they couldn't do it, and she told me no, they had no spoons. I then asked for a second paper cup to use for scooping out the whipped cream -- she ignored me the first two times and pretended she didn't hear, and slammed down a cup in front of my face the third time. There was so much whipped cream in the cup that I had scooped out half of the cup's contents and I still hadn't gotten rid of all of the whipped cream. At that point, I gave up and ended up begging another server to please give me my correct order. He finally admitted that the first server got my order wrong and made me a new cup of hot chocolate without whipped cream. All the while, the first server was glaring at me and muttering under her breath about my wasting food and wasting cups. The hot chocolate was burning hot so I asked for a cup sleeve, which the first server told me they didn't have. I asked for a second paper cup to serve as a cup sleeve and the first server glared at me again and muttered about how I had already wasted so many of their paper cups and they should be charging me for the extra cups. The other server had to come back and tell her to "just give [me] a cup" for her to finally toss another cup in my direction. I am absolutely never stepping foot in this place again, and I sincerely hope that any other visitors who stopped by this cafe are not served by the same...

Good venue ruined by a poorly trained staff.

As soon as closing time was approaching, staff took away our UNFINISHED drinks without a warning. At our request for explanation not only they didn't give us back the drinks but basically commanded us to finish our food and get out fast otherwise they'd pick up that too.

While I can be sympathetic with low salaried workers wish to get out of work on time, I definetly do not appreciate rudeness of this act, particularly considering we were still over ten minutes before closing time and a simple warning would have sufficed to make us leave in a timely fashion. The owner should definetly invest in training or better selection of their staff.

I used to be a regular and I brought several groups of people with me multiple times but I'll definetly never come back again after this incident and I'll surely not recommend this place...

I walked in and ordered 2 lattés, then I asked for the menu, the lady at the cash pointed and said "it's there, and pointed right in front of her but the menu was not in English, which was fine, so I asked with a smile "what's your soup of the day?"..."it's on the board over there" she says, so I flipped the menu back at her and walked out. I don't know if it's general rudeness or a bad day, but it seemed to me she didn't like me before I spoke, from the expression on her face. It seemed to me to be exactly like the racism I used to feel as a kid in Canada, but not in the last 30 years. This was a very unsettling experience especially in a tourist area, and a poor reflection on the country. I have never posted anything like this before, mostly positive reviews. I feel other travellers should be made...

A beautiful place full of character and the history of the house shines through the whole setup. The old antique shop left some quirky old furniture behind in the cafè before it shut completely. The house is one of the typical Scandinavian houses dotted around this oldest area of the city. I am a fan of the crèpes and usually always happy with the drinks and food. My only reason for a star lacking is the service. Some of the staff can be cold. However, I've also had great experiences with other staff ... thanks for the crèp and see you again soon.

Great coffee great atmosphere great staff. Our group visited here on 3 separate occasions in less than 24 hours. Drip coffee was great and so were some of the more cappuccino style coffees. During the day I had a nice long chat with Martin the barista (also a chef!). He could have been running a side travel agency with how well he knew the area. Since it was a little slow he gave me a ton of info about all the stops I had in mind. All that free with my 'unlimited refill' cup of joe. Thanks Martin and Stofan Cafe.

We were there in the early afternoon. Downstairs lounge area is cozy and quiet during the day when the lower bar is closed. You will need to order and pay upstairs and they will bring your food downstairs to you as it comes available. There are lots of board games available to keep you occupied during a rainy afternoon. Unfortunately one of us was left waiting for their food while the others ate. The food was delicious and I would definitely go back.
