I just left Aqua, The Park. Really didn't like the service. The starting was very good from the gate to Aqua. But 3 of the staffs including 1 from another department were just gossiping among them inside the lounge. Nobody arrived to offer me a table. Though there was nobody. I took a seat myself.nobody arrived with the menu. I asked for it then a girl came with a cube of QR code kept on table and left. Didn't sound anything to wish or smiled. then I checked the menu and strted waiting if they come to take order. Again nobody arrived. I called reception and get the call transferred to Aqua and ask if anybody wish to take order or I go myself. After another 2 minutes another girl came and took my order, I asked for whisky. She left but she didn't ask if I need any food or starter. Anyhow I requested if they can charge my mobile as my mobile was about to be discharged. They refused saying there is no charger. Come on its a hotel they have plenty of restaurant and also reception. Ok then I finished my drink and waited if anybody come and ask for repeat. Nobody arrived. I waited another almost 10 minutes then I raised my hand and ask for bill. Because I felt insulted to sit anymore. I paid by cash. They got my change back with rs 10 less. That was ok I understand big hotels sometime don't have changes. But suprisingly the waitress didnt tell anything about it. This place was high on my list of places to go to in Kolkata but it was a great let down. The Sheesha is just average. The waiting time is long for not just the food to arrive but also for someone to attend to you. No co-ordination amongst the staff. One person takes your order and conveniently forgets. Then another person comes and takes your order and she has no idea of the previous order. I made a reservation but no one cares about it and has no record of it. It's a very mediocre joint to be run in such a reputed hotel. The food menu is minimal with very little variety. The hotel certainly needs more professional management for this lounge or needs to shut it. I am certainly not coming back here. Even when I called to make a reservation the front desk transferred the call thrice and no one was available to pick up the phone at Aqua. Finally I called the next day and got a reservation. The front desk lady also was frustrated with no one answering the phone at Aqua. The food is also mediocre. The masala papad is as hard as a stone.And all this mess with only 3 tables occupied.
