🔥 Dublin Asian Food ROASTED in One Sentence (Again!)

Interesting place to be honest.. seems rather split between a normal pub and a restaurant. I ordered some Kimchi to start whilst I ordered a drink (which I ended up picking up from the bar myself as the waitress forgot about it!) as I love traditional Kimchi (it was nice and as I remember but rather a small amount… I know it’s supposed to be a side but still a little more would of been nice!). Also as a starter I order Pajeon which is like a pancake but it’s slightly spicy and has savoy ingredients. Mine was slightly greasy and wasn’t crispy enough for my liking however it was ok. For my main I had Jeyuk which is spicy pork with sides of Kimchi and rice. This was nice enough but it didn’t wow me to be frank. Regards to the service it seemed to me there wasn’t really much organisation on who was running which tables! Now they were very nice and friendly but there just didn’t seem to be a sense of urgency on keeping an eye on the customers. Both times I ordered a beer from the waiter she then ordered from the barman and my beer just sat on the side of the bar until I got up myself and collected it! Also there was another table which the gentleman got so tired of waiting so he could order his food he got up to ask for someone to come over to the table! The waitress said she’d come in a second then she clearly forgot as she got side tracked with other things until I reminded her by pointing at the table of guests waiting to give an order 😂 Same sort of thing happened when I order my bill.. it took two reminders to get it finally! 3 dishes and 2 pints came to €46 which was pretty expensive but that’s Dublin so I don’t hold this against them. Would I recommend it.. well yes as I’d like to try some of the other dishes however I’d prefer if someone else was paying!

We went for dinner and ordered a Kombucha, tap water, pumpkin croquettes, sweet potato roll, sweet potato noodles with beef. They brought the kombucha and it literally exploded as soon as we opened the bottle, this usually happens when the kombucha is old. The staff helped us to clean the table and immediately got us a brand new bottle, this time it was fine. We then received the croquettes and the noodles, no sign of the tap water, it only arrived after the 3rd request. Croquettes were nearly tasteless and oily. After 10 minutes, the roll my girlfriend ordered as main arrived so we could start eating. The sweet potato roll didn't really taste like sweet potatoes at all, there was just some of them on the top, it was the regular vegetarian sushi roll with avocado and cucumber. The sweet potato noodles didn't taste as sweet potato either and both the noodles and the beef were very oily and very heavy on the stomach, it was hard to finish the whole dish. I only eat it all because I don't like wasting food but it took me some good will to do that. After all of this, we had to ask for the check twice before receiving it. I would not recommend the restaurant at all. Note there is a pub part but I can't speak about it because we didn't stop for the after dinner. We did pay for the kombucha in the end and the whole check was about €45.

Let me get this right , food here is brilliant . It is indeed very tasty. But what is untolerable about this place is the staff .until this day we have been regular customers here , we even celebrated my boyfriend's birthday , always stopped by to have our favourite korean drink " soju " but it feels like with all honesty we are treated based on how much we spend on a day ! There are times when i personally spent over 60euros for one meal , when we spend less we get nasty condescending treatment from the staff . Or we get kicked out . Yes kicked out . Simply for not ordering more . And i know it is a busy resturant but we wete never here while its crowded . We came here and there was not a single table occupied . The staff sat us down reluctantly she chose a table and said . You only have half an hour ! This was not the first time this happened . We actually were ordering a lot of items one day and as we were waiting for the dessert one of the staff came and asked us to leave as we were there for too long . Thats not our first or last rude treatment from kimchi hophouse staff . And good food or not . We are not animals . You dont just expect to feed us and keep us happy just because the food is there . I expect ways better attitude from a high review resturant in dublin . I am disgusted and annoyed . Treating regular customers with this rudeness is not accpetable from a chipper diner . And this resturant is supposed to be korean finest in dublin ! I seriously advice the resturnat management to resolve this for the resturant's own sake . We will not be turning up here...

Located off of Dublins Parnell Street Kimchi is right on the luas line, and easily accessible on foot.

The choice of food is excellent, generally tasty and of good portion size, and will be brought to you in whichever order they feel like. The selection of Dumplings are moist and tasty. I had ordered Katsu chicken, what I was bought was a breaded chicken fillet in what seemed to be a honey soy sauce, whilst definitely not what I'd ordered it was tasty; served with sticky rice, a Dumpling and some kimchi. Presenting a very full dish for a good price. The bar has a great array of drinks from soft drinks to hard liquors

The venue itself is a little dark and certainly in need of a little tlc. I daren't consider what was dripping on my head from the ceiling as I used the bathroom. As for the staff they are lovely enough ... when they're paying attention, having to call the staff away from their phones several times throughout the evening seemed quite challenging and also quite inconvenient to them. Our food was out before our drinks, the drinks were incorrect, the food was incorrect and part of the order wad forgotten completely, and we could have easily left a dozen times before getting the bill after we'd requested it, and the place was not at all busy .

Overall the food is good, but if you consider the state of the venue as a whole, I can only hope the kitchen is...
