The culinary masterpiece I recently had the pleasure of dining at a high-end restaurant Sant Ambroeus in the heart of Milan, where I sampled their exquisite French fries and many more things. However, let me tell you, these were not your average fries and food.
First and foremost, the presentation was impeccable. The fries were served in a delicate porcelain dish, perfectly arranged in a tower-like formation. Each fry was uniform in size and color, with a golden hue indicating they had been cooked perfectly.
But the taste and texture of these fries truly set them apart. Crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside, each bite was a symphony of flavors. The potatoes were clearly of the highest quality, with a subtle earthy sweetness enhanced by just the right amount of salt.
What truly impressed me was the attention to detail in the fries, the overall food, and the unparalleled service. The Lobster roll had been lightly dusted with a blend of herbs and spices that elevated the flavour profile to new heights. Each bite was a delight for the senses, leaving me craving more.
In conclusion, Sant Ambroeus is a true culinary masterpiece. I highly recommend trying it for yourself—you won't be disappointed!

Read moreMy husband and I visited Sant Ambroeus Milano for aperitivo, and it was a truly lovely experience. He ordered a classic Negroni, while I opted for one of their signature cocktails—both were perfectly balanced and beautifully presented.
The staff was attentive, helpful, and genuinely friendly, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The aperitivo snacks were both delicious and generous, with a nice variety that complemented our drinks perfectly.
As expected from such a high-end establishment, the prices are on the steeper side for Milan, but we felt the experience justified the cost. The ambiance is elegant yet relaxed, and whether you’re sitting outdoors to people-watch or enjoying the chic interior, it’s a great spot to pause and take in the Milanese vibe.
We noticed a mix of locals and tourists, which speaks to its appeal across the board. While we didn’t try the full food menu, what we saw being served around us looked excellent.

Read moreVisited: January 19, 2022. This is a venerable Milanese institution: their cakes and sweet pastries are coveted all across town. It is a pity that (as other reviewers have noted here) the staff is definitely not up to the standard (and the high prices) the place commands. The cashier lady greets you with a grin (you need to pay upfront when you eat/drink something at the counter table) rather than with a smile and a 'welcome'. The feeling - she was checking her smartphone when I approached her - is that the interruption (a paying customer!) is seriously bothering. The bartender, once you place the order, does not acknowledge it with a 'thank you' or 'at once'. No word is spoken. Once the order is delivered (its quality impeccable, I must stress) and I say "thank you", the absolute silence my words are met with speaks volumes. I left the place wondering whether the gentleman who served me was dumb or, most probably, wasn't educated to serve customers the way they should be. In short: excellent products,...
