This beautiful part of Venezia is extremely interesting and exciting to me. Sometimes calm and serene and then hectic and chaotic. The Orseolo basin ( bacino Orseolo ) is a widening of water located in the San Marco district, behind the square of the same name. This small crescent-shaped lagoon pocket, positioned exactly behind the rectangular factory of the Procuratie Vecchie, was opened in 1863 during a series of urban renovations that affected the city, with the express purpose of creating a landing place for gondolas near the historic heart of the city. Read moreWe took this gondola from the front of HRC cafe. The person who rode the boat ruined the experience for us. I honestly dont understand why was he being disrespectful and rude to us. Ignore us, dont talk thats completely okay but dont make frowning faces at us and reply to questions like “what time will you start sir” in a harsh manner. He took us for 16 min ride mainly in canal. We paid 90Euro in cash at 9:20am and came back and 9:35. There was no traffic, no weather problem. still! We just didnt say anything as being in a foreign city, you dont know what can happen next. He was on phone all the time and was making ridiculous faces. I accidentally captured pictures of his face making while recording a video. I was so excited for this experience and the guy just ruined it. Waste of time and money. Loved rest of the venice, food, cafe,...
