My friend and I stayed here for 6 days. At first everything looked nice. There’s a nice lobby with a good cafeteria where you can buy all sorts of stuff. The reception lobby is nice, we arrived 3 hours before our check in so they let customers leave their luggage there so you can explore the city before checking in. However, when entering the room (we were on the right floor at first which is the highest of the building), we noticed a horrid smell of sweat and body odour. We weren’t sure if it was the Indian restaurant to the side of the building or if it wasn’t cleaned enough so we stayed one hour before deciding to go down to the reception and tell them that it was unbearable. I give the service 5 stars because the lady at the reception was nice enough to change our room to the 5th floor. After changing rooms, the smell was still present but less strong so we decided to stay. They were kind enough to ask us if we wanted to have ozone put up while we weren’t there for one hour to dissipate the odour even more. Coming back from our groceries and after exploring the city even more, the smell was gone so that was nice. We then found that there’s a gap which is shown in one of my photos that lets the ambient air form outside come to the room that can be closed and it all made sense afterwards since the previous smell resembles a lot to the Indian restaurant. After closing it up, there was no issue afterwards. As for the room in itself, the beds are comfortable; the TV is big enough to watch shows (I suggest to bring a chromecast so you can connect it via HDMI and watch Netflix) and the bathroom is normal without anything to add in particular. As for the location, there’s the Toji train station at 2 minutes walk but mostly for every activity we did, we had to take a train from the Kyoto station which is at 10 minutes from the hotel. It can also be noisy at some times because there’s a big road that is directly in front of the hotel so your can hear cars and motorcycles...

I stayed at this hotel with friend for three nights. The first day, we were given a room on the seventh floor at the end. There was a strong smell of body odor, probably from the hot weather (They change the sheets every 2 days for conservation reasons ONLY if your stay is longer than 2 nights) When I went to tell staff, they offered to change the room but put us in the room one door down. The smell was still there but less, and staff recommended opening the window to rid the smell, and we did.

In order to prevent the smell we kept the window open, but as a result and the rain, there were a lot of mosquitos. I have an allergy to mosquito bites, which is my personal problem but when we closed the window in the morning for the day the staffed tried to accommodate and open it again. It was a nice thought, but more bugs came inside. When I closed the window, I kept getting bit and my arms blew up. I looked on the bed and there were mosquitos and on the ceiling above the window, there were swarms. I will not attach the video I showed staff, but it was many.

When I tried to address the mosquitos, the staff seemed hesitant to change our room again, but an allergic reaction is something I could not deal with. I tried to take the repellents but there were too many. They only changed our room after I showed them the video.

I am giving 3 stars because they did accommodate, but I think they should have given a new room to begin with to prevent this all. We switched rooms twice. The staff was somewhat understanding, but I was not pleased with their suggestion of using bug spray in my own room to prevent my allergic reaction.

The location is easy and convenient. The convenience store on the main floor is helpful too. You get what you pay for.

The phone number for day time also doesn’t work (the one posted on major booking websites and on Google) I do not know why. The evening number is the only one I was able to get through, but you have to visit the main...

We arranged our luggage to be delivered from Osaka to Kyoto (¥1300 per 26inch) thus we had extra time for sightseeing n stroll into the hotel after 3pm. Our luggage arrived around 6pm. Hotel was located 10 mins walk from Kyoto station n 3 mins walk to Aeon Mall. We chose this place so it’s easier to reach the outskirts from Kyoto stn. Room for sgl was really tiny (abt 10sqm2) Safety box’s batteries with taped on. Carpet was filthy. Tiniest bathroom ever w one glass shelf. But at Sgd94 a night how to complain? Check in was a breeze but don’t ask for any service as you’ll be met w “no” afterall OMO3 is the entry level for their hotels brand starting from 3, then 5, then 7.
