Last Night in Tokyo: A Major Incident That Makes You Think Twice 😷 National Holiday Hotel Nightmare

Currently after staying a total of 9 days at this hotel, I would say it is earned its 5-star rating. The amenities staff and food have been wonderful. However even in this five-star there are some ups and downs. If you are deciding to have breakfast I would recommend heading down to the downstairs area because all the shops there have the same food that you would get at the breakfast. They seem to be all connected and a lot cheaper too. Speaking of downstairs this hotel is absolutely amazing because there is so much to do in the lower level of the hotel. You have a whole host of shops between bakeries, wedding dresse rental, plenty of places to eat, Subway connection... Etc. There's a smashing view from every hotel room my only complaint is that at their main place to eat " grand kitchen" the service is not so great. We went to have dinner and it was a complete disaster, the person I was staying with got their food first and I never got my food until I had to ask for it plus I had to Flag staff down to get what I originally ordered. It was hard in general to be waited on. The way I would recommend them fixing this is to make the staff more attentive to clients. Other than that I have no complaints the staff at the front desk were kind and helpful at all times and I would stay here again and probably will.

Wonderful contemporary style room, with a vast skyline view, stretching from Marunouchi, part of Imperial Palace to Toranomon. Comfortable bed with high thread-count bed sheets and Imabari pyjamas for good sleep. Balcony is great for a breath of fresh air in the morning with an expresso and for sundown drinks. Excellent location, proximity to Tokyo Station, and Otemachi Station (nearest to hotel), facilitates easy travelling inter-cities or around Tokyo. At the basement (or hotel arcade), there are eateries and shops, and two are interesting - Imabari and Hasegawasaketen, with a splendid range of sakes at good price. There's a convenience shop, 7-11, too. The underground walkway network is also extensive and interconnected. It is possible to walk from Otemachi to Tokyo Station or Ginza, shielding from the elements during bad weather. Concierge is of high initiative with good local knowledge and manage restaurant reservations very well if provided them sufficient lead time. Housekeeping is top-notch and efficient, besides properly refreshing and turn-down the room, they remember our preferences from our previous stays. It was great to be back again.
